*Sharing this to save all those poor sketchbooks around the world!* I think the main thing is: don't feel discouraged when you're starting to draw. Art is a practice. The more you practice, the more you understand things like pencils and pressure. And you'll have heaps of fun too! 🙂 *Oh but I am keen to hear what BRANDS you prefer... tell me below* ⬇ Jess

I don't like graphite AT ALL! I'd rather use charcoal. Plus get a real artist's sketchbook, DO NOT use common printer paper. Nothing looks worse to me than the combination of the common HB pencil and printer paper. Obviously if you are just trying to quickly get an idea on paper that's fine but otherwise, no. It's a good habit to carry a small sketchbook in your pocket for quick on-the-spot studies and for jotting ideas. Love the content, thanks!

That's a really fab tip about carrying a sketchbook with you. When the inspo strikes you need to be ready to capture it! I like charcoal a lot too... it's funny though, students don't seem to be keen to use it. I keep trying to push it on the kids but they tell me no 😂
