    Wanted to start a new comment line. Just want people to know this is a really, really good generator for the cost. I use it to charge 4 ecoflow delta pros. That use for power tools and other things. This little generator is amazing. We had a job recently, and this little guy ran 48 hours with no issues, no hiccups in power.

    Sam's club aipower sua2300i is usually $399. It is same 79cc yamaclone engine. I like the aipowrer because it does come with an hour meter and a 30AmP outlet. Both have similar decibels.

    Another nice video Johnny!
    You mentioned USB-C, that really looks like USB-A on that control panel.
    OK, now a 10 second Hondaboy rant follows-- If you'd like to have a small generator (camping or outdoor projects), this is probably a fine option....If you NEED a small generator (backup for your sump pump or fridge/freezer during power outages) you'd be better served by the Honda. 😀

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol I did say USB-c…Ahh funny how I didn’t hear that. Good snag. Sometimes you miss the simplest of things. Yes, again if you need a light duty generator that is small and light and wont break the bank for basic things and you dont abuse it, this would be a fine option and probably last a long time. If you need to run higher loads then you need to step up your generator size. Or yes the Honda can be a good option if you need a more heavy duty option for starting loads. But still if you need more than 1800 watts you should step up gen size.

    What sort of tasks/power load should this kind of generator be able to handle on the higher end? Mostly looking for a generator down here in Florida that in the instance of a power outage could handle a cpap and a couple small fans. Guessing this would do the trick in that regard..

    Johnny. I have a couple of questions for you regarding this generator. My attempt at using a Westinghouse strictly on propane didn't work out well.
    1. How is this device holding up?
    2. How is the customer service regarding Power Smart? I can say that Westinghouse was outstanding! On the 2 occasions that I called them for technical support and opted for a callback. They got back to me within 15 minutes. Another nice thing about their customer support. If you provide the model numbers of and refrigerator or window AC unit that you expect to use their generator on. They will tell you what that particular units surge voltage is. In the case of my 1000-watt running Frigidaire side by side refrigerator, which I bought the generator for. I was told that its surge hit 1600 watts and well within the capability of what that unit could handle on propane. Propane provides less power than using gasoline as you know.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, So far I only gave about 5 hrs on it. Being winter I rotate through gens to charge and test power stations but more towards summer I try to lend units out to get hours and feed back.
      Now this is a light duty unit so mainly good for battery charging, or running a fridge or two. Maybe a small 500 watt Ac unit and items of the like. What are you wanting to run…?
      Long term feed back does take time. Plus with several gens I rotate through its a little hard to get serious hours. Hence I rely on other users and more to draw conclusions if it’s a good unit.

    Great video and nice little economical generator. Really enjoy watching all your reviews. When it comes to running furnaces, refrigerator/freezers and tv/computers, how important is it to use an inverter generator vs. a typical generator. I am looking at buying a tri fuel gen set, either the Westinghouse 10500 open frame, or the Gemax 10K, both tri fuel. The Westinghouse would give me more watts on nat. gas, but the Genmax is an inverter with cleaner power. I was hope to be able to run a 4 ton AC with a soft start. I am torn trying to make a choice between the two. Any thoughts on this? Obviously there is a big difference in price. Thanks

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most times a normal open frame non inverter will do just fine. So many people say it has to be clean energy but that’s only if you need it. They make open frame inverter gens that idle up and down and put out clean energy and are way cheaper then say the big Genmax.
      Now for me if I was charging certain power stations or home back up systems some gens will not charge them because they need that pure sine wave energy. Like the bluetti and ECOFLOW products. They will start to charge and a couple mins later stop.
      So if you have sensitive electronics besides the common house hold items or these smart battery banks then a inverter may be needed.

    Hi, do you have any idea on the voltage drop range when using that hair dryer? I mean the voltage drop from +-120v when you start the hairdryer, until it stabilizes again? Maybe I missed in the video, thanks for your help

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  หลายเดือนก่อน

      A hair dryer wont cause much drop as its a resistive load verses an inductive load like a small AC unit may drop the voltage 5% possibly more. If you are not turning on and off inductive loads or have sensitive electronics then most gens are fine with a certain amount of voltage drop. Like hair dryers and such dont care.

    How do I drain the fuel out of the carburetor when there is still fuel in the tank. I just bought this generator, and it's been great. But when I have it with me on the go, it seems the fuel will leak out under the rubber stopper. This might have to so that when I'm moving down the road and it shaking a lot. You won’t get anything quieter than a Honda eu2200i
      If the needs of the Honda fit for you.. then buying used can be a great option. I see them from $600-$-800 all the time with little hours on clist and Facebook market place.
      A champion 2500 is quiet like this unit on the low range to about middle load, once mid to upper or full it’s louder than Hondas.
      Remember what ever you buy you want to loads to live around 25-75% if you are always at 75% then you need a bigger generator. If you never really get about 25% then you need a smaller or you just waisting full and creating excess carbon build up.

It’s the most popular in small units. But not all are as good and some are louder than others. This one is pretty quiet especially in the medium and low loads.

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s only a 80cc engine verses Hondas 98.5cc on the eu2000 or 121cc on the eu2200i. The Yamaha 2000/2200 use the same 80cc engine but a true Yamaha brand. But the 1800/1900 running watts is not for full time. That’s when extra power is needed then you bring it back down. You should buy a unit that lives around 25-75% or the load. Above that consistently you should buy a larger generator. Once over 75% load as well your just burning a lot of extra fuel then say at 25-50% load

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You shouldn’t run it at 1900 watts continuous nor should you run any generator at its max rated load all the time. If you do you need to step your generator size up. 30-70% is where you should live when buying a generator and then the extra is there if you need it sometimes. Just like the Honda you shouldn’t run that at max 1800 either. If you do you need to step up a generator size to increase longevity.

They'll spend millions on smart electric meters but not on the aging infrastructure. And we are all supposed to use electric vehicles when they can't even handle the current load. Last night we had a storm and thousands of their customers are still without power. I need a generator here for this reason. I will go with a unit that handles a higher load. Much like many instruments they are so cheap to make now since they have been around for a long time it seem the ones that are $30 are no different then a $75 meter.
      I would like to try a $30 verses a $250 type though to see if there truly is.
