I find that my X2000 overexposes a bit in auto and I pretty much leave the AE compensation -0.7 or sometimes -0.3 set for all of my auto shooting. With no compensation the highlights burn some and overall brightness is too much for my liking. With no compensation the highlight zebras are showing as well. Do you find the same? I also wish the camera offered a histogram that I've come to rely on with my Sony AX700. Overall happy with the Panasonic in good light.
@@yk3550 Ah yes, the waveform monitor. I made a small attempt at trying to understand it and gave up. Perhaps I'll do more reading and watch more videos on the subject. I've heard that after you understand it, exposure can be nailed perfectly.
Hi, this is a very common question and worry for potential buyers. It really depends on your shooting needs. In recent years, we are spoilt with large sensor cameras (1", mirrorless) , so in contrast, the smaller 1/2.5" sensors pale in comparison. However, if we look at the entire package, its flexibility,, feature set and a whole range of frame rates and codec choices, then this camcorder could be on top of the list. You can watch one of my video here th-cam.com/video/4FoXephwCTg/w-d-xo.html and also the trailing discussions to know more. Hope these help.
wow...Very beautiful
I am glad that you like it, thanks.

Hi Dan, yes. In auto, find it a little overexposed to my liking too. Usually, I record in manual exposure with the help of the waveform monitor.

This camera is amazing. Do you know if this camera has night vision? I want to record nocturnal animals
Hi, it does have an IR Cut Filter on/off function but it requires a commercially available IR light add-on to work.
@@yk3550 thanks for the information
I was going to buy the HC X2000, But I read a lot of bad reviews, like filming in doors low light is horrible is this true?
