Again a beautiful, heartfelt and moving song from your concert John, and again a great thank you for sharing. Your voice gives so much emotion and thankful thoughts, maybe more than what you imagine. It is a sad pleasure, but helpful and necessary to remember and not to forget and it is always here to comfort whenever one needs a moment of reflection. So grateful, John 💖🎶🎶🎶
Song by the wonderful Eric Bogle sung perfectly by John McDermott. I still can't get through Legacy without tears. The empty table is the line that rips me up. Memories of colleagues long gone, sacrificed for my city and nation. Time does not lighten the pain. Thank you for this beautiful rendition. God bless.
@@johnmcdermotttenor ❤💜💙🙏Thank YOU! I wish my Dad could have heard this song sung by you. He was a WWII veteran, Army. He enlisted at 17, my Grandmother had to sign for him. He was at the Battle of the Bulge. He never talked about what he went through except to say all the French girls wanted to kiss, and DID kiss all the GIs when they liberated Paris. He said that to make my Mom jealous :) He came back home and they married eventually raising 6 kids. Worked hard all his life. He was of the Greatest generation. Humble, hardworking and patriotic. He never forgot his fellow vets and visited them in the hospitals when he was able. Eric's words would move him very much. That man can write!! Take care, John.
