This song was created by Mikuru396 as a response to his classic piece "Melody..." that he created back in October 2007, nearly 5 years ago. A friend of mine in Singapore linked me to the 3DPV that was created for the song on the same day it was uploaded, December 15th, 2007. So if it wasn't for Mikuru396 and his song, that 3DPV would have never been created, and I may never have gotten involved in Vocaloid when I did. Or gotten involved at all for that matter.
This song... This PV... It's beautiful. It brings back so many memories of the older days, and it makes me remember when the Vocaloid community was something small and obscure. I've had the chance to watch the community blossom into what it is now over the past 4.5 years. Those thoughts, combined with this song, actually made me cry. It was that powerful.
So, to you Mikuru396, I'd like to say "thank you". It was your song that got me to where I am now within the community. This new song is something that I will cherish. It is the perfect successor. Thank you. For everything.

idk why but i almost teared up during her upgrade sequence.
it was goddamn amazing, apart from the occasional wonky motion of Miku,
but that got quickly compensated with the camera work and visuals!

OH MY GOD DUDE!! After the Miku's "update" I began to get a bit teary-eyed, then when she sprouted those wings... I managed to get a choked-up "Oh God!" out, and nearly fell out of my chair! So damn BEAUTIFUL! And I'm not even that fond of the append outfit, and prefer her original clothes. That tells you how awesome this is! This one is surely going into a playlist!
Mikuru396 definitely should do a new song for Miku's 10th anniversary with birth of V4X on PV.
Paweł Dawidziak this is sort of his final song, I suppose. He hasn't been active since 2012, and his Twitter account with only 120 followers has been inactive for a year.

I like to post obscure stuff. Besides, this was JUST posted on nicovideo a day and a half ago. It's already at 41,000 hits after only 36 hours. This video is actually very popular. I simply posted it because it's very important to me. Also, "Freely Tomorrow" isn't a song that qualifies as Vocalectro. So it doesn't belong on my channel.

There's plenty of subbed versions by other people at this point. I sent an email to Mikuru396 in August of last year to see if he wouldn't mind if a friend of mine translated it. Surprisingly, he spoke English VERY well. So I asked if he wouldn't mind subbing it himself (after all, the creator of the song would know the true meaning better than anyone...). He seems pretty busy though, as with most high profile musicians these days. Vocaloid for him is a hobby next to his real job.

AMAZING! A brilliant mix of calm relaxing music to electronica! The animation is breathe taking! As an animator (in training), i can only imagine the work that was put into that video! The quality of Miku isn't best, but the cartoony look and the amazing special effects that are perfectly synced with the song is amazing! If only i could find a translation for it, oh well, if anyone finds the translation before i do, please let me know, and with the poster's permission, i'll reply with the subbed

love this. it's almost too beautiful for words. it reminds me of when i first heard miku sing back in 2007 and this video almost made me cry out of sheer love for the beauty of miku's voice. just as i did then.
If I'm correct MikuMikuDance was used (MMD for short). But with such high quality and effects like that there was more than just MMD involved.
This one of the most emotionally powerful Vocaloid Song+PVs I have ever seen. It actually left me with chills and tears coming down my face. Other Vocaloid songs have struck my heart before, but not quite like this one. The wonderful mix of happiness, sorrow and hope while watching Miku return from a potential fate of obscurity is amazing. Mikuru396 and Brother-P created a masterpiece here.

I would love to see this be redone with today's MMD capabilities
It's not just mikuru, but Brother-P as well, who made the melody.exe video who got me started on Vocaloid. If it weren't for that winning combination that we again see here now, Vocaloid would not have made that much of an impact to me. The PV gave me a feeling of "what else is out there?" that could have easily not have been there with another director. These two were truly a dream team. If only Kio had a model for Append they could use, then the trifecta would be complete.

I just "Like", "Fav", and added to my Miku playlist, even before seeing the video! This goes to show you that this video just gives a very powerful meaning to Miku Hatsune! Loved the part when she transforms into her Append mode!
There are composers who can make vocaloids sing like humans. Maybe I'm wrong, but I prefer them to sound as always.
I find it amazing that they can sing really naturally, but they loose their "personality"

That's because the Vocaloids have no story. They are completely open to fan interpretation, and that's what allows for so much creative freedom in the community.

You could convert the video from nicovideo directly. The audio on that is 325Kbps AAC. However, the audio in this video isn't just the song itself. There's included sound effects, as well as a very long intro and outro of nothingness. I'm not sure if you'd want that.

Didn't mean for you to change anything. I was just agreeing with you. Brother was at Anime Expo 2011 before Mikunopolis, holding an MMD panel. To be in the same room with the person who helped start my love of Vocaloid made my jaw drop to the floor.
