I understand that Shaun is reluctant to do cooking videos but he does a marvelous job. He is a natural teacher so if he can be talked into doing more that would be most appreciated.
Shaun,Something for you to think about for next year. Look up Dalemain ( L ake District ) homemade marmalade festival. They get entries from all over the country, and some from America.
I love this! “COOKING ON THE CROFT” would be a wonderful addition to your regular videos! I’d totally watch that… you could showcase local ingredients as well as home grown honey, eggs, veg, etc. ❤
Howdy Guys!! Wow, what a wonderful honor it must have been for Shaun to have cooked for Her Majesty & her gang!! Kudos & bravo!!!!!!!!!!! Being an old Navy man myself, that's a wonderful feather to have in his cap!!! Big bear hugs from Kenny in Ohio USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys needed this after such a sad couple of days, my son in-laws past away. My grandchildren are devastated. This is just what I needed my Scottish Granny and Aunts only ate marmalade on toast and oatcakes. I'm smiling thru tears. Thank you!
No wonder you're still together after all those years. You both must continuously astound each other (as you do us) with your creative abilities and humor.
Another video with Shaun's cooking yay. I remember when you started tea on silver fox and filmed it. I said it then and I'll say it now I would love to either see some videos or perhaps a cookbook with some of Shaun's cooking.
Thanks for making this video, it was lovely to watch. I use the recipe my mother got from a magazine once sugar came off ration. It takes 3 days but most of that is 'cover and leave overnight to soak'. I'm not fastidious about cutting and de-pithing, but then neither was the recipe. I usually make a year's worth of Seville Orange Marmalade in January in 2 batches, 1kg of oranges at a time. I've made 3 ingredient Marmalade once, when I couldn't find any Sevilles for a second batch. The sugar proportion was much more in the more modern recipe, even though using sweet oranges and grapefruit. A couple of limes couldn't make it that bitter! It still had 2 lemons to a kilo of other citrus. I prepared the quantity of sugar in the new recipe, weighed what I would have used (2kgs for 1kg of Sevilles), added most of that, then added to my taste. Of course it was pretty similar and I couldn’t tell it was mainly grapefruit! Useful to make other types as I find so few shops near me even know what a Seville orange is! Fabulous video, thank you.😋
Shaun, this is wonderful and you’re so good at explaining everything. I’m a ‘can-cook-won’t-cook’ person because I find it stressful but you could even persuade me to have a go at this 😂 I loved your videos you did on Silver Fox … ❤
Well i never!!! Yes please Sean, please do more little cooking vids, they dont have to be fancy. And youre very calming so it would be lovely! Please also tell us more about how you got the job on board the yacht and all that lot! Fascinating! I'm really excited to know more.
A few years ago I tried making spiced orange jam. It made a delicious sauce but never set into jam. I'm inspired to try again, this time cooking it with the peel. I enjoyed watching you make the marmalade. K from Canada
You chaps have an amazing work rate. You get so much done, what with the honey, running the croft, keeping the hens and looking after Sherlock, making the videos and so much more. I don't know how you keep it up.
Loved seeing Shaun making marmalade: I tried some shop bought for the first time in my life. Also, my wife sometimes makes jams with the fruit from our garden.
We now know Shauns name, but what's your name, great idea by the way, I believe that the market for small niche businesses are the future, the smaller the batch, the better the quality, everything is becoming bespoke, and rightly so, there's so much talent available, the whole kit and kaboodle could turn into one huge market place, of small sellers, myself included, I used to cook, venue cook, so go and take over someone else's kitchen, so they were free to entertain, hard work but good fun if you're properly and well prepped. Just started following you guys, love your videos, two funny guys, blue plaster included, along with subtle innuendo. Keep it up boys. Paul 🌈 😘
Loved the video! We are in the US and can’t buy your products but I still enjoy watching the process. Great demo Shaun and loved the music Colin added. Love to you both❤
Sean if you ever have a surplus of honey, try using that as part of the sugar quantity. It should work. I make marmalade and jam myself from time to time. Seville oranges aren’t always easy to get. You might like to try making Lime Marmalade, the only problem is the colour of the finished product, it’s a bit of a muddy green colour, it tastes ok but it’s not the same green as Roses.
That looks delicious Shaun! Our Forces certainly train their Chefs well as I can confirm as first husband was a Chef in the RAF. I know your marmalade will fly off the shelf as soon as orders can be taken. Stay safe and keep smiling ❤
Outstanding edition this one. Please more of Chef Shaun sil vous plait. We always enjoy your offerings on such a variety of subjects. Thanks Shaun and Colin. Wonderful to know that there are no pieces of finger or rubber in your marmalade. 😉
Lovely video .Good Luck with the Marmalade. Am sure it will be a success along with the Honey .Love the humour guys .Looking forward seeing next video 😊😊
Loved watching the marmalade bubble away in the pot! I bet the whole house smells heavenly when you're making the marmalade! Have a lovely weekend, boys. 💖💖💖💖
I’m so glad you’ve done this step by step. To show people how much work goes into making homemade products. I loved making jam years back. It’s takes hours and hours to prepare etc. I literally can’t wait for honey and marmalade. Xxx once again thanks gents for a foxy Friday vlog xx
Very entertaining and informative. I really enjoyed this because I cannot cook at all. My late Aunt used to do this every year with whatever fruit was in season. It was something of a tradition in Scotland. Keep well and safe. James.
Great Vlog Guys. I have now learnt how to make marmalade. So much easier than i thought. You guys are fantastic. Take care, stay safe and well. With regards Derek.
Hi guys. Nice to see you. I do not always have time to watch your videos as they come about, but when I do... I really do enjoy hearing/seeing you both. Keep up the great videos. Thank you. Respectfully Robert MacDonald Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks for the video Shaun & Colin. I would love some of the Whisky Marmalade but obviously being in Oz, it would be too expensive to get it here. LOL I shall just have to make my own. Many years ago I made Three Fruits Marmalade (Orange, Lemon and Grapefruit), which was lovely. It is slightly more 'tangy' than plain Orange Marmalade but is fabulous on a piece of hot buttered toast. You have inspired me to get the big preserving pan out and make another batch.
In Spain all 'jam' is 'marmalade'. I get the suspicion that it's them English at it again ... 'What's that sweet fruity stuff?' "Marmalade" My favourite is Canarian Banana Marmalade - Awesome banana jam that goes with just about anything.
I loved this video and Colin's questions for Shaun while he was making the marmalade. For many who are familiar with cooking, that may have seemed simplistic, but for someone like me that uses my oven for storage and can only boil a bit of pasta, those questions and Shaun's answers were very beneficial. I will have to just book a flight in the fall, pop over, buy a few bottles, a quick hello then come back again :)
I just loved this video watching Shaun cook. Looks delicious 😋 ❤. You too just make my day & you make me smile 😃. Both of you are just too cute 🐨 😊🥰 Thank you for adding brightness to my day! ❤
Not to be predictable, put me down for a whisky one! And single malt Highland, does that mean it's your favourite Clynelish? Oh and Nic wants a shredless too! Will keep my eye out for the announcement!
You both seem to like messing about with sticky liquids😋. It looks yummy, whenever I’ve made it ,it gets dark and bitter but that’s the way when you cook it too long and not taking the pith out so I’ll have to try this recipe. Thanks Shaun for taking the time to do the video. 🥰🙋🏼♀️ Is that owl peeps I can hear near the end when you’re outside?
Britannia visited my home town in Canada in the summer of 1991. It would be so cool if Shaun was on board! Marmalade looked great. I like mine with shreds, but I prefer my orange juice without pulp. I'm a complicated guy. :)
I now want to go and make some marmalade..I need to find a diabetic friendly recipe..good luck lads..I'd order some but I don't know how it would handle the postage down to Australia..
Ooh this was great! Loved seeing the marmalade making process, hoping to get a couple of jars to make some cakes with! I really feel your pain re: things taking so much longer to make because of filming it all 😅 But it was worth it! Thanks guys!
wow!!! this was such a nice surprise....thank you...would love to see more content with Sean cooking... that was awesome... love the new ventures into new content. keep up the great content... you are both so funny and cute...
Love to watch you cooking. Is it possible to use your honey instead of sugar? It would make it one of a kind as your honey is one of a kind and raising the value of your marmalade that no one else could make, Best of luck. Walt Duba (Head cook at our house) Morro Bay, California, USA
Wonderful video, great to see the process and the care and attention you pay to hygiene ! On another note, the T-Shirt Shaun wore while making the marmalade is a lovely fit, where from?
Looks lovely! I make tangerine marmalade and grapefruit marmalade. Waiting for the day you two lovelies can mail your jars of goodness to the USA😄🥰. I’d love to have a jar of orange whiskey marmalade!!
One of my favourites is marmalade on toast or crumpets Looks nice well done Shaun and Colin Another great video has always Colin Shaun and Otis and Ollie 👍

Oh it take wayyyyy too long. That’s why I don’t like it. 🤣🤣🤣

Fair enough. But scrolled down to post something similar. Fwiw it's enjoyable content when you're willing/able to take the time. 😉

A man who cooks AND builds...amazing, Shaun. Marmalade looks beautiful!🧡
Thanks so much!

OMG, so sorry, Jean. Sending lots of love and virtual hugs ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
More recipes Shaun! Brilliant.
Thank you 🙏🏻
That fine shred on the peel was impressive! You certainly know what you’re about, Shaun! Cheers, and ATB!
Thanks 👍
Oh, boy. All of the marmalades sound delicious. Hope to try some in the future. Shaun, you did a fantastic job!🥰🥰
We've tried it, it is superb!
Should all be ready in a couple of weeks 👍
Sounds wonderful ! Will u beable to ship to the USA? Great job!!

Awww thank you 🙏🏻
Served aboard Britannia myself Shaun, between 81 and 87, happy days.
It is maybe not that hard, but it was nice to see how it is made.
Shaun, the man of many trades!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Who knew Shaun was such a distinguished chef! I would love more cooking videos, although I do respect his reluctance to film. Bless you both. ❤
I totally agree! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️🤣🤣
My aunt Jennie used to make 'three fruit' too, orange, lemon and grapefruit. Great stuff once the Sevilles are over
I bet the smell of making that marmalade is amazing!
The house smells of oranges all this time at the moment 🤣
It was lovely to see Sean in the kitchen.
Shaun youre a gem. Family of jam makers here, and that marmalade looks great. Prep area gleaming clean👍Always enjoy your videos........Alioban ❤
Thank you so much ☺️ glad you enjoyed it x
When the marmalade was cooking I could almost smell the oranges and lemons! I love marmalade.
It’s delicious 😋
I made your marmelade recipe, and it was MUCH better than the recipe I had been making. Thanks!
The marmalade masters, nice!
❤️❤️❤️

I’m not keen on cooking videos, normally the marmalade would take about 3 hours…. Filming that took all day 🤣🤣
As always, a groovy episode. Shawn you are quite the talented boy.
Thank you xx
shaun brilliant, Nigella Lawson is worried you will be getting a tv cooking programme

Lovely to see great marmalade be produced. I also appreciated the Tommy Cooper acknowledgement.
Just like that 😀
Orange and whiskey marmalade sounds divine!

Visited the royal yacht berthed in Leith, impressed how you were able to live and work on board with the limited space on board.
The crew quarters are exactly like they are on a warship 👍
Shaun....the Renaissance Man! Carpenter, Chef.......what's next?
Who knows? 🤣
Sean is so professional! His marmalade looks luscious. People who get some will have a serious treat.
It’s so Yummmmmmmm!

Awesome 🤩
Nice tips on making marmalade, in future I will be using your recipe.❤❤❤

I would love a hamper with your honey and marmalade, maybe with some shortbread and something made from your eggs, even if it is only pickled eggs.

The "bits" are the best part, especially English cross-cut marmalade, on a good bread, buttered, with a cup of tea.
