Girl you are lucky! I live in downtown and my rent is $2000 for a very small space 😢 and my utility bill is $100 for hydro and water… This is a super expensive company called providence energy😢
Yes, I’m very grateful to have low fixed expenses! It’s a small space, but being able to split the rent and keep those costs low is amazing. I hate that your utility bill is so expensive! How much do you pay for internet? We usually negotiate that cost every year, so if you haven’t tried that before, maybe it could be helpful!
$73 on Uber isn’t bad especially when it’s cold outside. Who wants to walk? Let’s wrap up the last month of 2024 with our new goals on the horizon. Keep going! 🍊
That seems like a huge budget for someone under 30 yrs of age living in Toronto….im assuming you make a substantial income to sustain this type of living style ?! Not saying anything bad about anything….just seems heavy that’s all!!salute to you being able to continue this journey!! 🫡
This is all coming from my $70,000/year salary! I get paid $4,459/month, invest $2,000/month, and spend from the rest. When I go slightly over budget (like I did this month by about $150) it just comes out of the buffer I have in my chequing account 😊 Also, thank you + thank you for your comment!
It sounds like her monthly expenses were 2,603 including her share of rent, which doesn't sound super high. She is definitely investing a lot for her age (really for any age). Which is awesome!
$33 (CAN) on utilities in a cold climate? In a single family home in California, that runs us about $500 (US)!! Being able to walk and use Uber also saves a lot of money compared to having a car and paying insurance and gas. In other categories, you guys spend way more than we do. It's really not about how you spend but how you budget
They live in a new and compact apartment that is easy to heat and probably well insulated. Also the natural gas costs to run the building’s boiler is usually blended into the maintenance fees, which is paid by the owner. So what she pays is likely just half of the electricity bill.
@freshfreshfreshfresh yeah, even with HOA dues which can be high, they do cover expenses that you would otherwise incur anyway, so that's not a bad deal at all
would you consider breaking down your grocery spend further? i find groceries so damn expensive in toronto, $300 is really solid
I was going to ask the same thing
Yes, definitely! We're going to post a video about this soon 😊
