Yes, I was the leader and co-founder of the group. I produced, arranged, wrote or co-wrote all the songs and played all the saxophone solos. Thanks for being a fan!
Here's another fan - this album is truly stunning and legendary as far as I am concerned (and my friends from the great old days of jazz-funk/soul). When I first heard "Just Like You" and "Whatever It Is" I was blown away and searched all over London for a copy of the import LP. It was hard to get even then!! I found two copies and purchased both of them - in case I damaged one!! Still treasured today.
Love this song..goood memories! Male lead sounds like Maurice White on all the songs! I hear so many groups..EW&F on vocals, and harmonies. The bass player could be Verdine. I hear Confunkshun's "Too Tight", and a little of Cheryl Lynn's "Got To Be Real". UNDERRATED GROUP right here!! NICE JAM! Thanks for sharing!
For one or all of the members of HEAT, hi, and thank you for creating such beautiful music and such memorable lyrics. Bought the album back in the 80's. It is still, to this day, one of my all-time favorite albums. And "Whatever It Is" (what a song!) remains in a league of its own. As far as I'm concerned, there are no rivals!
I remember playing in a local band (local circuit) and we were the ONLY band covering HEAT. Shame they did not get the recognition here on the East coast (Boston). I've written a couple of articles on Soul and R&B "Back-in-the-day" for a DJ who has a Soul/R&B radio station in England. I plan on making him aware of this group and how they are truly one of the UNSUNG........
Azurskyz, thank you for being such a dedicated fan of HEAT. Almost all of your favorite HEAT songs are on the new CD plus a few brand new songs as well.

Played by Colin Curtis and John Grant as a new release, at Rafters in Manchester (UK). Also released as a US 45, and curiously as part of a four-track 12" EP on MCA in the UK, which also included Merry Clayton's magnificent "Emotion", plus tracks by the Dramatics and Love Committee! The only UK format issued, as far as I know...
@Tom3030 This album was released in April of 1980. Then in 1998, a CD version was released in Japan and Europe on Cool Sound records. Most recently, in 2009, an unauthorized version was released in Japan.
@jmack80 I don't know about malavsi and slade but I do know I wrote and co-produced and arranged this record! The female lead vocal is Jean Marie Arnold and the male lead vocal is Joe Pizzulo-famous for the vocal on the hit song "I"m Never Gonna Let You Go" by Sergio Mendez.
Tom3030, I'm glad you have the original album on CD and of course I appreciate all the original fans. However, HEAT REVISITED is a whole new and different animal. By that I mean it's better than the original. Being the creator of both versions, this is my humble opinion. I think it's better in so many different ways. You'll just have to see for yourself! I'm just sayin'.
