A unit does a better attack if not moved before their attack.
Its better to blockade active convoys routs.
Important to keep partisans hexes controlled by units.
Enginner are better attacking settlements and over rivers.
Not sure if they make movement over river easier in this game.

Seems clunky so far, with units being ambushed by hidden units taking no penalties (usually 1:1 losses). They should be torn up. Also when cities are taken they are automatically at full supply which makes invading super easy. The supply should go to 0 on captured cities so you have to build up HQ's and supply before invading deeper. Also even with the scale the game is not accurate as no Civil War battle line extended across all of Virginia. An entire battle would be inside on hex in reality.

Would be great if you had supply wagon trains that you had to bring along to rebuild the supply in a captured city.

Really interested in this one. Seems to be one of the few games where scouts and Cavalry will be given proper importance. Like the River warfare mechanics too.

Will you be playing a full campaign after this run?

I'm thinking you have control over Mexican research because it's in the Union's interest to keep Maximilian busy fighting an insurgency, rather than have him occupy all Mexico and provide aid to the Confederacy.

You didn't finish other game called strategic command war in Europe

    Game seems... Rushed
Like, someone had an idea, made it. But the engine just doesn't fit at all.
It would fit waaay better if they depicted actual battles at a smaller scale

THG please stop moving multi hexes at a time when trying to take a city....you keep blundering into troops. You do this in every SC game.....take your time moving.

      "Blundering" being the operative word.

The more I watch, the less I feel this game is going to work for me. The graphics are just too dated for 2022 and the engine doesn’t seem designed for this type of warfare.

As a first impression, I am not optimistic about this game. Seems very non-historical and rather boring at this scale. to be blunt, everything just seems wrong here. The naval and riverboat units do not look like fun at all to manage. The Naval warfare aspect of this game looks like hard and tedious and very unrewarding work. I can never see myself playing a short campaign, let alone the entire war with this scale and system.

Ironic as the graphics are better than many serious wargames even now. Grigsby, Decisive Campaigns, Warplan - I think Strategic Command grapics are not very good ,they are clearer, more elegant and readable and better than any of those.

These strategic command games are all awful and all play the same. Static warfare without the ability to stack units to optimize offensive or defensive capability.
