I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I live in northwest Indiana so hearing you mention some of the shops I frequent also is so fun. Seeing your designers parades are so fun. Lots of the same things I love.
Per usual another wonderful video. I enjoy seeing what you are working on and your beautiful finishes.I cut up loads of projects err stitching sometimes plus crochet , knitting and sometimes my sewing projects and I do it with pleasure and no guilt. When something doesn't work it cannot be made to look anywhere lovely!

Loving everything!!! I'm coming back to stitching after a 30 year absence and boy things have really changed. I have absolutely nothing, nada, nil to stitch...not even needles and there are so many fabrics and threads I don't know what to buy. I have to find my LNS and visit because I'm too confused. Great video...TFS!

OMG! I almost cried when you cut Hollyberry Farm at Christmas!!! OMG!!! I say that, but I would have probably done the same thing. I love it all ladies! You are so inspirational... I just want to run home and start stitching everything; however, unfortunately I've watched this during my lunch hour so stitching will have to wait until after dinner tonight... You two are on my stitching bucket list of stitchers I'd love to meet someday, along with the Saltbox Stitcher. Another enjoyable video! Brenda, loved how you liberated that start. You might save those cut off pieces, Maybe a strawberry or pin keep could be made? Both of you have a wonderful time at the retreat.
When you took out those scissors and cut your linen I almost died, but I totally understand it. If I'm knitting something and I don't totally love it, I don't care how much is done, I just unravel it and start over in a way that I'll be pleased with the end result. I call it righteous ripping! Enjoy your trip.

Stacy Nash is one of my favorite designers. So I added to my wish list after watching you and I will take to The Attic when I visit them in December. Only been there once before and threw down some serious bucks. Loved all your show and tell Brenda and those finishes of the drums are heavenly with the velvet. I am so fortunate that I now know about Total Framing, because they are less than 30 minutes with traffic (either location) from where I live in Virginia, yeah!!! On another note, I respect the need to start over if the colors aren’t working for you, however there were some beautiful small sections of that piece that you were throwing away. There are many folks that collect partially completed quilts/needlework pieces and repurpose them. Just a thought for the future, Love watching, but it’s becoming expensive seeing things I must have. 😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️

I have one of those simplicity pattern bags! I got the 1930 one, i just bought it a few months ago at walmart. I put my threads, scissors, pen, etc, for my current project so i can take things with me. I dont have any project bags so this works great for me.
Another great video. I watched with my son -home from school on a snow day in Michigan-who is now stitching his first sampler. He was inspired by you two. Thanks for showing all of your beautiful pieces, and I love learning about the different designers.

I am a true Stacy Nash fan and have at least half of her patterns. I did finish the Whaling Ship Tray and Pinkeep and the called for Dove linen does not look anything like the picture. It is a gorgeous dark gray/blue. It is so worth the time stitching it and finishing that tray. My only problem is I have trouble displaying it because my cats want to lay in it. That's not good. So I keep it covered up. I bought the "Christmas at Hollyberry Hill" all kitted up at an estate sale, and I am glad you mentioned the walnut color, I appreciate the heads up on that.
I am really enjoying the thought of your cats wanting to lay in that Stacy Nash tray!!!! We both love cats. But I am sure when it is happening in real life that is not something that is cute! I will try to look for some Dove linen so I can see it in person. That was a find at the estate sale!!! Thanks for taking time to comment. We sure appreciate it!

Oh My God! You ladies are such enablers. I've never stitched a Stacy Nash before, my tastes aren't that primitive yet! 9Eyeroll) But I've paused the video several times and taken notes. I've also ordered my first Hands Across the Sea Samplers - Elizabeth Weston one, and because no chart should travel alone Miss Mary Ann Bournes too jumped in with her, along with A Saviour's Praise! Now I'm waiting for video #7 so you can tell me what else I need to buy!

Oh, how I look forward to your videos. ❤️ They have everything; beauty (both of your darling faces), love ( for designers, linen, fibers, samplers) stories of stitchy friendship, young girls and a few boys stitching samplers 100’s of years ago and . . . NOW DRAMA when Brenda grabs the large purple gripped scissors and Laura’s eyes get as round as saucers 😳 while Brenda proceeds to cut ✂️ her Christmas at Hollyhock Farm in half!!! 😂🤣🤗that was the most liberating and happy thing for me to see. I think my eyes looked just like Laura’s but when it was done and Brenda was still smiling that beautiful smile of hers I felt how a load could be lifted. That our stitching should be fun for the most part. It was a good reminder. Thank you! I do have one question since you chose Stacy Nash and I do love her designs also. But, often she directs you to stitch on a pretty bland linen and then tea or coffee dye it yourself or to use those dying crystals on your already stitched piece? Do you do that? Or do you chose a more vintage dyed linen to begin with? Thanks again for your wonderful parade of Stacy Nash patterns and stitched pieces. So much fun!
Thank you so much for the sweet and kind words Laurel! I've only dyed one piece after I've stitched it and it was pretty small so I wasn't too worried about it. I'm too chicken to do it on a big project though LOL! I would choose a piece of linen that is pretty distressed so I wouldn't have to dye it after all the stitching is complete.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I live in northwest Indiana so hearing you mention some of the shops I frequent also is so fun. Seeing your designers parades are so fun. Lots of the same things I love.
Per usual another wonderful video. I enjoy seeing what you are working on and your beautiful finishes.I cut up loads of projects err stitching sometimes plus crochet , knitting and sometimes my sewing projects and I do it with pleasure and no guilt. When something doesn't work it cannot be made to look anywhere lovely!

Loving everything!!! I'm coming back to stitching after a 30 year absence and boy things have really changed. I have absolutely nothing, nada, nil to stitch...not even needles and there are so many fabrics and threads I don't know what to buy. I have to find my LNS and visit because I'm too confused. OMG! I almost cried when you cut Hollyberry Farm at Christmas!!! OMG!!! I say that, but I would have probably done the same thing. I love it all ladies! You are so inspirational... I just want to run home and start stitching everything; however, unfortunately I've watched this during my lunch hour so stitching will have to wait until after dinner tonight... You two are on my stitching bucket list of stitchers I'd love to meet someday, along with the Saltbox Stitcher. When you took out those scissors and cut your linen I almost died, but I totally understand it. If I'm knitting something and I don't totally love it, I don't care how much is done, I just unravel it and start over in a way that I'll be pleased with the end result. I call it righteous ripping! Enjoy your trip.

Stacy Nash is one of my favorite designers. So I added to my wish list after watching you and I will take to The Attic when I visit them in December. Only been there once before and threw down some serious bucks. Loved all your show and tell Brenda and those finishes of the drums are heavenly with the velvet. Laura I’m landlocked in PA but I happen to like ships and whales too. Eliza Poole is a need. No longer a want. Have a safe trip and wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so fortunate that I now know about Total Framing, because they are less than 30 minutes with traffic (either location) from where I live in Virginia, yeah!!! On another note, I respect the need to start over if the colors aren’t working for you, however there were some beautiful small sections of that piece that you were throwing away. There are many folks that collect partially completed quilts/needlework pieces and repurpose them. Just a thought for the future, Love watching, but it’s becoming expensive seeing things I must have. 😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️

I have one of those simplicity pattern bags! I got the 1930 one, i just bought it a few months ago at walmart. I put my threads, scissors, pen, etc, for my current project so i can take things with me. I dont have any project bags so this works great for me.
Another great video. I watched with my son -home from school on a snow day in Michigan-who is now stitching his first sampler. He was inspired by you two. Thanks for showing all of your beautiful pieces, and I love learning about the different designers.

I am a true Stacy Nash fan and have at least half of her patterns. I did finish the Whaling Ship Tray and Pinkeep and the called for Dove linen does not look anything like the picture. It is a gorgeous dark gray/blue. It is so worth the time stitching it and finishing that tray. My only problem is I have trouble displaying it because my cats want to lay in it. That's not good. So I keep it covered up. I bought the "Christmas at Hollyberry Hill" all kitted up at an estate sale, and I am glad you mentioned the walnut color, I appreciate the heads up on that.
I am really enjoying the thought of your cats wanting to lay in that Stacy Nash tray!!!! We both love cats. But I am sure when it is happening in real life that is not something that is cute! So fun to hear your comments regarding the Attic. My husband and I winter in the area, so Thursdays are my stitching days at the Attic. Would have been fun to see you at the Attic but we have not left Minnesota yet.
I just finished watching all of you TH-cam videos. It sounds like you are from NW Indiana or in Illinois near that area. We have visited my brother and sister-in-law many time in the Porter, Indiana area.

Love watching your designer parades, what a way to add to our "to-do" lists! I was amazed that you cut off the stitching from the linen, I am sure I would rip out to the point of ruining the linen before giving up, great way to cut to the chase. Have a wonderful retreat.

Oh My God! You ladies are such enablers. I've never stitched a Stacy Nash before, my tastes aren't that primitive yet! 9Eyeroll) But I've paused the video several times and taken notes. I've also ordered my first Hands Across the Sea Samplers - Elizabeth Weston one, and because no chart should travel alone Miss Mary Ann Bournes too jumped in with her, along with A Saviour's Praise! Now I'm waiting for video #7 so you can tell me what else I need to buy!

😱Wasting that fabric makes me crazy! I’d be happy to unstitch that color and send it back just to avoid that. Yep, I’m a weirdo about linen. Love your videos and IG posts, all of which push me to hurry to the nearest website to order up more goodies.
I know Doris.....for some people that is just a terrible thing to do, but for others it is very liberating and sends one on their way to start over in a happier fashion. I totally understand what you are saying though! Thanks for commenting!!!

Oh, how I look forward to your videos. ❤️ They have everything; beauty (both of your darling faces), love ( for designers, linen, fibers, samplers) stories of stitchy friendship, young girls and a few boys stitching samplers 100’s of years ago and . . . NOW DRAMA when Brenda grabs the large purple gripped scissors and Laura’s eyes get as round as saucers 😳 while Brenda proceeds to cut ✂️ her Christmas at Hollyhock Farm in half!!! 😂🤣🤗that was the most liberating and happy thing for me to see. I think my eyes looked just like Laura’s but when it was done and Brenda was still smiling that beautiful smile of hers I felt how a load could be lifted. That our stitching should be fun for the most part. It was a good reminder. Thank you!
I do have one question since you chose Stacy Nash and I do love her designs also. But, often she directs you to stitch on a pretty bland linen and then tea or coffee dye it yourself or to use those dying crystals on your already stitched piece? Do you do that? Or do you chose a more vintage dyed linen to begin with?

Thank you so much for the sweet and kind words Laurel! I've only dyed one piece after I've stitched it and it was pretty small so I wasn't too worried about it. I'm too chicken to do it on a big project though LOL! I would choose a piece of linen that is pretty distressed so I wouldn't have to dye it after all the stitching is complete.
