You two should appreciate how much Sweden has changed over the years as far as food choices in the stores. I was raised as a vegetarian in Sweden, and during the winter there were just onions, potatoes, carrots and cabbage available along with breads, dairy products and eggs. We ate cheese, homemade bread and potatoes every day. There were no Vegan choices. I enjoy a variety of foods in the US these days.👍❤️
I believe that one major difference between Sweden and the US is that the US grows so much maize. (or corn, but there's a thing called corn in Europe, an that's a totally different thing) Which means there is maize in almost everything. For example it's the most commonly used sweetener. Europe grows far less maize, so most of the time comparable European products contain contain something other than maize, and they will certainly be sweetened with something else than corn syrup. Also, animal-free dairy is actually just around the corner, it's only really held back by anti-GMO legislation. There are microorganisms that make real cow milk protein, cow milk sugar and cow milk fat. The result is indistinguishable from what comes from the cow, and it can be used exactly like the milk from the cow. Food will be revolutionized in the coming decades!

Yea the use of corn is insane in the US. But we are hoping for more change on the non dairy front. Hope you’ve had a good week!
