    First heard about Altata as an anchorage watching your video six years ago. Finally got the chance to set the hook here, April 2024, with two other buddy boats. Still a great very traditional Mexican beach town with lots to do, lots to eat and lots of live music.

    It is a breath of fresh air to watch real folks sailing and cruising a fair size sailing vessel from day one until today. The NET is loaded with digital guided tech boats that you sit in and tell it where you want to go.( and oh by the way, shut the sliding glass doors the floating condo is getting salt air in it". To each their own, this is real, my cup of coffee (tea no), after owning,living aboard, maintaining and being the captain of a blue water 64' Ketch for many years I know from where I speak. Thank y'all for the latest vid.

    Well, I'm totally bummed. I've been watching these videos in order at lunch time, one or two a day. And now, for the moment, I've come to the end. These are my favorite sailing videos. I really love all the details... the videography, the boat maintenance, the towns and anchorages. You have a wonderful attitude about what you do, and you just keep getting better and better. I've sent you a little money on Patreon, so I hope you'll keep it up. Fair winds and following seas, guys!

    Tip: If you sprinkle cornmeal on the surface of a pot/pail of water, the clams will clean themselves as they soak. I like to think of them as "pre-stuffing" themselves. The clams will keep ingesting the cornmeal, so let them soak a good while. Fair winds!

    When Jess was stuck in the mud I could smell it. We clammed in Guaymas when I was a kid and the memory of that pungent smell came back. Thank you for the refresh. Fair winds, my friends, we look forward to the next video.

    Wishing the both of you well. We hope that you make a safe trip up to US, dodge the bad weather and get Prism prepped for the Atlantic crossing next year.

    What a great port to visit since it is kind of off the beaten path for typical cruisers. The village looked for clean and those paver streets were beautiful. Your foot trip to the outer barrier was a good add to an already fun video. Eating well looks to be a fun pastime and the clams and shrimp dinners looked very tasty. So nice to have you back with more of your travels.

    Hi guys,, I just want you to know your videos are the best. As I am getting my boat ready to go cruising, I watch a few other youtubers-mostly for laughs. Lavagabond and other millennials, ignorant of the harsh realities of life, buying floating condos,, out there pretending to portray what cruising life is all about-NOT!! could learn quite a bit from you guys. I have been to most the places you are now visiting. Thank you for the memories.

      Wow someone else who thinks like I do! Vagabond was ok in the beginning, but after they got big, I feel like they lost sight of what it's all about. They've become VERY materialistic and I can't stand it.
      Delos is still great and there's a few others that are good fun with good people. Abandon comfort and doodles are my favorites after Delos.

    My boat is a 33 ft colin archer very similar to the Hans Christian style it a bit lighter then yours at 10 tonne , yours is about 11 / 11.5 t ! They are heavy but I'd rather heavy I think heavy is safer in the open sea even if you sacrifice some speed ! You can sleep at night ! The double Enders are also an advantage in my opinion but it's like anything in sailing it's personal preference ! Safe travels you two ! Great vids btw !

    Also, what do you use for a mic/camera when you were in Litttle Cayman? It picked up your audio great on the beach!

    Dude!!! You guys totally filmed a UFO. I mean of course right, what else would that be that makes any sense!? I've seen a few, and they often behave like the one you saw. Changing in intensity, sometimes disappearing then returning perfectly.... sometimes returning to different locations though too. They look like a star,... or sometimes sun like but ... not as big or bright of course, but with that light is definitely not of this world. That's how I always describe the light. One of the sightings, I was with two others as well, we watched 1 that morphed into as many as 9 at one point, always keeping a parallelogram shape. They morphed before our eyes for well over an hour. It was beautiful. As I said, I've had several sightings, and I was only alone once, so there's corroborating accounts :) I was never tripping either... I... might have had a slight buzz a couple times ;) Anyway... dig the vids, been watching them for a while. Love Hans Christians. Great boats. The 33 by Harwood Ives, is a tremendous boat! We sail a Contest 31 presently, but are actually looking at a Pacific Seacraft 37, currently located in Guymas, on the Sea of Cortez. I believe you guys were there no? Anyway, hit me up if you ever want to discuss the friend from another planet you guys saw :) Peace

  • @Genjinai
    @Genjinai 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    That might be Venus and Mars you are seeing there, not stars. Remember that Venus has no light of its own, what you are seeing is the light of the sun reflected from the planet. You said you saw like a haze in the atmosphere. The light reflected from Venus is much stronger than any light coming from stars that are millions of light years away and disperses throughout the universe before it gets here. It could create such an effect when it enters our atmosphere. I remember as a kid seeing on a really cold night a giant ring around the moon. It was created by this effect, I quote: "Rings around the Moon are caused when moonlight passes through thin clouds of ice crystals high in Earth's atmosphere. As moonlight passes through the ice crystals, it is bent in a way similar to light passing through a lens. The shape of the ice crystals causes the moonlight to be focused into a ring." What you saw might be this lens effect, only for the light coming from Venus. That would also explain the intensity changes, it was our atmosphere that was moving and reflecting the light differently, not an object in the sky. You can find out if this was the cause or not, if this thing still bugs you. If you know the coordinates you were in and the time when you saw this, you can find a program that shows you exactly what stars and planets were out that night, I think. You should at least find out the position of Venus at that hour in the night on that date, quite easily...

    The music is wayyyy too loud. It becomes the subject instead of the great story line you have going in the video.
