    It was the Christmas truce in the 1st world war. It was the British and the Germans who came together and played a game of football (soccer), exchanged gifts, shared drinks and cigarettes. There were many photos taken and it’s well documented historically in movies, tv shows, poetry and music eg the Jona Louis song ‘Stop the cavalry’!
    Almost Burt 😂

    One time in 2005, Bert was on tour with Keith Richards and the Rolling Stones when Ozzy said he wouldn't go on stage without a brandy glass of brown M&Ms. Luckily Jim Morrison pops his head around the corner and says there's a sweet shop on the edge of town...
    I wish you well, God bless 🇺🇲

    My Grandfather was a POW held by the Germans during WW1.
    Put Joe and Bert in my Grandfather's shoes and lets see how tough they are.

    A documentary I watched. It said when Hitler heard about the Christmas ceasefire. He was absolutely furious.

    Man you guys are getting really pissed off over something as trivial as Bert accidently saying it was the Americans instead of the British. He said multiple times that he's only repeating what he heard and that he isn't an expert on it. Basically everyone, chill out, it ain't the end of the world.

      Bruh he got the whole account wrong. Don't claim something if it wasn't true to begin with.

    • @captaintwitch340
      @captaintwitch340 ปีที่แล้ว

      @josequijas7663 You should tell that to every journalist and politician on Earth, the world would be a better place, and they tell way worse misinformation. The only thing I could see he got wrong was that he said it was the Americans instead of the British and his ignorance of the soccer game. Joe was just as wrong about it too, and nobody's getting mad at him. Compared to the larger internet, people are being way too harsh towards him for this. It can be solved with a ten second Google search, and anyone interested enough would look into it themselves to try and find further details and find the correct information. It's not a big deal.

      but it’s fair to point out that he got almost everything wrong. it was world war I not II, the americans weren’t there and silent night was written by an austrian lmao

    If you're going to tell a story, at least come with actual knowledge of what you're talking about. It had nothing to do with American troops, but of course Americans have to make everything about them. It was a Christmas truce between British and German troops. They played a game of football, exchanged gifts and sang songs together. It's really not difficult to do some actual research before making yourself look stupid.
