I am post op for cancer. I spent 1200 dollars on a full body PET-CT scan... everything is clear. Point is, let's spend a bit of money and have this done every few years to pick up problems in their early stages. It upsets me that people have a ton of tests and find the illness when it is too late
You get a radioactive tracer and a lot of ionizing radiation, which can cause cancer as well. Furthermore also other things with an enhanced metabolism as infections or inflammation will show an uptake. You risk a lot of unnecessary further diagnostic procedures and cancer. It's better to focus on a healthy lifestyle with normal weight, moderate activity and without smoking and alcohol. Wish you the best!
