Very refreshing to see a game again! Forgot what it looked like! I think the best part was the cows getting activations. And then James being so cut throat he had to run one over... hilarious
Played tank hunter at the weekend. Good call. Added bonus jfl we had a herd of cows wandering around, d6 scatter 1st action for round, blocking line of sight, advances etc. Stay safe.
Loving the new style video the tips that pop up are really useful and the stat card that pops up when a unit is activated is fantastic great work gentleman!!
Finally! Back to videos where we don't have to stare at your faces... phew! j/k ;) Great game, and nice to see you back at the table in person. Loved the narrative setup to this one, and the rule overlays. Thanks for taking the time to film and share.
Lot of fun to be had even with a small army on a little board if you put a little bit of planning into the game in advance I think. Although less faces, there is a risk of more bellyshots... or worse still, the infamous wargamers crotch!
Thanks mate, we are working on more learn to play videos - our audience seems to like them. Thing is, we need ot be pretty confident with the system before we can do that, of course!
I have watched this video so many times, it was this and the first band of brothers game that convinced me to pick up island assault. One thingi noticed that didnt change the game in the end is that the shaped charge rule of a bazooka ignores long range -1 hit.
Great video and fantastic you can do battle reports again :). The more I see the more I like the activation method in Bolt Action and brutal some of those turns were.
Yay, you're back rolling dice! Fun game, I really enjoy the Bolt Action rules - it's really handy having a refresher as I'm hoping to get a game in soon, and after 15 months I'm a bit rusty! No pins for close assault, you only get supression for ranged weapons as far as I remember. You missed a trick not getting the cows to close assault the tank though.
Hello sir, thanks for watching! The trees are actually cheap ones from China with a bit of a spruce up.... This included snipping some branches away in an irregular fashion.... But not on all of them, a spray of any dark brown you can get your mitts on..... Then applying undiluted pva to the foliage sections and sprinkling/rolling them in a tub of fine javis scenics flocks, mainly the light tone but a few in the mid and dark tones too.
Nice play through, As far as I read in the rules you only get pins from being fired at , not in hand to hand so no pin markers applied. Technically a form of suppression.
Yeah, that seems to be the widely held view. I wasn't sure at the time and finding evidence of something not existing is never easy! Thanks for the info mate.
Heer here, heer there, lol. Watching now and will edit this comment as I go. Could be wrong but I think Bazooka is shaped charge so no -1 for long range. Your tips are excellent by the way. I really enjoy the pop-outs on the left. Well done gents! Where are those trees from :D
@@ModellingforAdvantage ah, that's fair enough. Haven't played a game yet, and that felt like a daft ommission, rules-wise. Glad it's not just me that does stuff like that!
@@stuart-hayes definitely can be hard to draw people away from the Warhammer universe. Local clubs and facebook groups are not a bad place to start to try and source a player, but yeah. It can be a slog. It is, in fact why I went back to playing some 40k - easy to get opponents.
This video alone has made me join your membership
Cheers mate. Welcome aboard.
The editing on these vids is top notch. The rule tips and units stats are very useful.
Glad you think so! Took a bit of time on this one, it seems to have been worth it.
Nice advanced tutorial, clear and not much long. Good joob! I'm waiting other video like this!
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it.

Always fun to add some of those random features to a game to mix up the gameplay a little bit.
Great video guys. I'm in the middle of painting up a band of Brother's set up myself.
Rock on!
Love the way you presented this. Really good for newbs and a lot of eye candy for everyone. Love the little pop-ups.
Glad you liked it mate, I thought the rules cards were useful for teaching people the system.

Great video, cool scenario, nice table, fun game. More BA please. Keep up the good work.

A fun looking game. Thinking Kaiser would have enjoyed just playing with the cows. 😂😂😂

Nice to see you guys back at it.
Thanks Todd
Great video. Glad we can get our fix of battle reports again🙌

Glad it was of use. Have you looked at BA 3 yet? Small changes, but has a big effect on the game.
Great video and fantastic you can do battle reports again :). The more I see the more I like the activation method in Bolt Action and brutal some of those turns were.
For such a basic change it really mixes up the turn and adds a dimension to it.

Cows were MVP for the Yankees in that game for sure!
Great vid !! Great game !!
Missed tiger fear there. Don´t think there are an extra pin on assault though.
Ah, yeah completely forgot about that. We usually ignore it, but in a learn to play game it should have been included.
Brutal game, cows were the MVP 😜
In every game, surely!
Nice table.looks great!
Wait till ya see the noodles!
"A Heer Squad here, a Heer Squad there".... such a missed opportunity to continue with "Here a squad, there a squad, everywhere a Heer squad"
lol

We will probably make a video about the process later, but basically Jonny B jazzed up some cheap tress from China.
@@ModellingforAdvantage and @Jonny B, that would be great, thanks!

what no one realised was the cows were actually French resistance looking for the fallen Madonna with the big boobies

The shaped charge ignores -1 on the penetration roll I believe, rather than the hit roll.

@@MiniatureGameMontage No problem mate.
Fun report. Where did you get those fields terrain pieces? they look amazing!

It’ll never catch on….. 😜

Is your wartable 3x3 or what? Thanks good man!
4x4 mate. Youcan watch the build video here: th-cam.com/video/UKQwgwPQtw0/w-d-xo.html

Surely if you're firing over a tank, the tank itself would count as hard cover?
