Totally!! I heard these guys on the radio for the only time a few months ago, I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s like a puzzle piece of my life has been put in the right place. This band is my heart and soul!
Holly Sh*$ and Steve Negus on drums, a Rare event , followed this band along with RUSH throughout the last several decades and both of them cut from the same stone. True craftsman of their own sound and what a Sound ..!!! No Copy here of regularity or simplicity , just well thought out design, chemistry and execution from their homogenised personalities that they all bring to the table,,,,,,, PURE energy along with enjoyment for all who listen to the music they Make ..!!!
i just wanted to say ty,this is my first time hearing this band,my first thoughts were its like a soft version of Rush. very different and why didnt these guys get radio time bitd?
Best live Band ever, I was several concerts finally yet in last 20 years cause the old time was before I could go to concerts. Its anytime a pleasure. Michael has the audience always in Full Control Like no other frontman has. Cause out of progrock they lost early the support from the big labels, thats why they also still today are smaller act than others, wich shows the shame of the Music Industrie nowadays. But they have their true fans like me who carry them always can give a concert next door and the people come. Also here in switzerland. In Dezember they will come again and I am there for sure.
You're so right. They were never quite the same with out him. An absolutely awesome drummer! Being to Saga what Jeff Porcaro were to Toto: Irreplaceable
I randomly picked up Saga's "World's Apart" cassette at a K-Mart in Amarillo, Texas back in January 83. Besides the club and bar music this cassette tape was the only music I listened to religiously in my truck for a year or so. True fan of this amazing group to this day.
I have been to a ton of shows. Tool, Radiohead, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Perter Gabriel, Ministry, SOAD, The Moody Blues, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine this July. SAGA was playing a city festival we have hear in Hamilton, ON. It was a free concert. I was amazed by the show. Great performers. I'm 50 so I was around when they were big. What amazed me was how many hits they had. Once they started banging them out, one after another, I was brought back in time.
Last noise on my part. Korg was my first polyphonic rig, obviously a huge sponsor of Saga. However, currently strictly Roland , far supersides korg, Yamaha and all the brands. Spent an entire day at Cosmo music comparing, Roland blows them all out of the water.. Not making a dime here, however would suggest parking in front of a Fantom X 8.
No idea of the amp but Ian's playing is phenomenal, but the sync between the sound and the video is off at about 27.55 where you hear a sustained guitar note while Ian is shredding away... no matter, it's a great band that I've always loved because they are them and no one else (think AC/DC, ...)
Great comments by all. Have always considered Saga in my top two bands. Back in the day (obviously an old fart) one of my early progects was a full set of just Saga. Couple of pet peeves. Sadler, great vocalist, however hiding behind the keyboards pretending to dominate I'm sure Gilmore didn't appreciate. Constant showcasing Ian on guitar gets tiresome, awesome guitarist however less is more. Overall terrific blend, as a musician and producer as this ensemble is huge in certain parts of Europe , I might suggest a bit of tweaking. Specifically either less guitar riffing or check out the up and coming ie: the likes of Owane and the next gen. Much more melodic riffs. Just a thought and observation. Nonetheless, Saga, brilliant music, brilliant band.
Ian looks like a accountant , Steve reminds me of a fellow at a service counter . Ha ha. Whoever would think to watch them perform .?!?! I first saw the briefcase drum solo combo almost 40 yrs ago in Toronto. At Massey Hall with my brother . They blew the roof off .!!! amazing talent overshadowed by many in Canada even .!!😮. Every thing now is hyped up solo acts , especially female singers . Boring, capital B !!!!
Okay, apparently not my last noise. Sadler as a musician we're not deaf and blind. You are faking it so much in front of a keyboard it's actually pathetic. You are an accomplished vocalist, stop the bullshit, it's beneath you and the integrity of Saga.
I can't understand why this band isn't in the rock'n'roll hall of fame
One of the most undervalued bands
not for the both of us , or ?
Totally!! I heard these guys on the radio for the only time a few months ago, I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s like a puzzle piece of my life has been put in the right place. This band is my heart and soul!
it seems like they did better in Europe than in Canada...but they were always number one in the charts in the 80s and ahead of their time.
Holy Hell! The quality!!!
exact total
Ian Crighton is one of the best guitarists éver! Totally love this band
Yeah it’s amazing how he stands out even though there are heavy keyboards. Very underrated band
High positive energy levels with this band
My first hero band of my beginning playing the guitar... they still are!
Multi-talented musicians...what's not to love? Love these guys.

Rush and Saga are the thin red line through my life! Totally agree with you👍
i just wanted to say ty,this is my first time hearing this band,my first thoughts were its like a soft version of Rush.

Nice to see Negus on drums ... missed him in the mid to late 90s

Great synchronization between keyboards and guitar....always in perfect harmony

Saga is the best band ever of its own kind…❤

SAGA!!! With Steve Negus! Great! Love them since 1980
You're so right. They were never quite the same with out him. An absolutely awesome drummer! Being to Saga what Jeff Porcaro were to Toto: Irreplaceable
Wird echt Zeit das mal mehr solche Musik wieder gespielt wird ! Bjh, alan parson, supertramp usw. Saga 👍
Just genius. These guys live their music and perform so extraordinarily well … it’s just perfect.

Saga, great Band forever and ever!
Ok I’m watching this for the first time and I’m crying of excitement. Is that the original drummer?!!!
Michael Sadler has a bit of a Freddie Mercury vibe when he performs.
This band is wow.
Great show ... one of my fave bands of all time
another forgotten remnant of Canaidian 80's classic's!
Two track from the board, no remix, I would know I their sound tech back then , amazing band live
Sorry for the question but, why did Negus leave? This lineup here is amazing.. Mind u, I kind the new lineup as well.
Love it

The Best 👋👋👋
Synth heaven band.
perfect Saga Live performance - HQS too
multi talent's of Michael Sadler
wow, from Québec Canada...merci
Saga are amazing!
What Amp is Ian playing and why is it covered?

Hermoso ❤
24:30 yes, being a clarinetist is a real job, it requires as much hard work as any other instrument ! ;)
Great band however, one of my favorites !
Eine wirklich geile Band !!!!
Second song I never heard. Great stuff!
ü
Time Bomb is great, isn't it?
"Time Bomb" is from the album Full Circle (1999).
You know all those Korgs are midi synced to Minimoogs and Oberheims! haha
another band we know all too well using Minimoogs and Oberheins !!
Ian looks like a accountant , Steve reminds me of a fellow at a service counter . Ha ha. Whoever would think to watch them perform .?!?! Amazing band
Can't replace Steve Negus!
wait....they should add even another keyboard
Is there not any women present ? Or is a gerMAN thing ?
They didn't play their biggest hit... let down...
Okay, apparently not my last noise.
Sadler as a musician we're not deaf and blind. You are faking it so much in front of a keyboard it's actually pathetic.
You are an accomplished vocalist, stop the bullshit, it's beneath you and the integrity of Saga.
Whats that, and please dont use this name
What name, SAGA is the original and truly one.
To bad with the low sound quality, but----best prog band ever.
