I know I’ll never afford anything in Tampa but I loveeee all the work that is being poured into Tampa. That an American City it's now focusing on the walk ability, and green spaces but also honoring history. I truly believe Tampa is (and you could argue is already) going to be the next big thing, and If this continues I think it could be the best city in America. Great video I love Tampa

Everything you said is exactly the problem with the area. Building housing for a particular niche of the market that the majority can't afford. In an area that doesn't even have the job market to support it.
That's why Florida is ground zero for all housing cycles.

I live in Pinellas, grew up in Hamburg, Germany, spent over 25 years living in NJ and miss "proper" downtown areas. Tampa Riverwalk and Armature Works as well as Hyde Park are nice, but that's it. Outside of Tampa: crickets. With all the new construction in Florida, it's so sad that urban and suburban design is still centered around the car.
