I just started buying knives myself and I am being awfully careful which ones I really want. So far I have 2: WE Banter and SOG Scout and love them both. I chose those two first to wet my appetite and see what I like, it'll be awhile until my next purchase but I believe I am leaning towards Emerson. After that, got my eye on a Mcnees but thats way down the line. For now, just enjoying what I have and trying real hard not to make mistakes. Loved your thoughts on how you collect and I have definitely been down that road with other interests of mine.
I’ve carried a Sebenza 21 Insingo for years and it’s been my favorite knife, bought a 31 6 months or so ago, and it’s been terrible. Lock rock is horrendous, sent it back to Chris reeve and they told me it’s fine and within spec. What a joke. I took it to work and looked at the lock mechanism under a 100k dollar piece of equipment that we use for inspecting machined parts, and the ceramic ball is actually moving up and down in the hole it’s set in. The concept of this lock never made sense anyway, the ball is soo much harder Rockwell than titanium. Anyway, I’ll be sticking with Medford and others from here on out, Chris reeve has put a bad taste In my mouth.
@@johncacey it wasn’t so much the issues, not everything goes perfect 100 percent of the time in manufacturing, I understand that. The issue was their response and refusal to admit there was a problem. Tim is ruining his fathers once great company.
@@jesseryan4053 I understand that so no issue there. I think that it is one of those things that until you have that experience you still enjoy the brand. But anybody can have a bad experience with a brand and be turned off at the same time. I know there’s a lot of heat on Medford but while I see some truth in what is said, I still really like the brand. So I totally understand and agree.
@@johncacey yea I hear you man you are right, it’s different when you experience things yourself. And yea, Greg has some enemies lol he doesn’t care tho. I applaud him, not many people are willing to speak their mind when it costs them revenue
I've got an un-milled bronze ano dated Dec 31st, 2020. Same thing with the clip screws being different sizes. Not sure what the logic was behind that lol. I'd love to get another with peaks/ valleys or predator milling. It makes for a great EDC knife. Small, light and very capable.

Enjoy the hobby and remember, don’t just purchase based on social media hype….make sure “you” actually like the design :)

I still enjoy my small 31 even though I have heard of some issues.

@@jesseryan4053 Ya Medford is one brand that I should not like due to some questionable factors but it is oddly a brand I very much do like.
I love the Slim Flipper. I’d really love to see a DLT s-90v exclusive.
I would not be able to tell much between the different knife steels lol.

Ya I wish Medford would “fix” some of the odd things like different screw sizes and washer count to give a more premium feel.
