Doug should add Fabled to the Character Roulette wheel. Since there is no one (that I know of) in the anime that plays Fabled, in my heart of hearts, Doug is the Fabled anime protagonist. Don't let the haters bring you down. FABLED SWEEP.
These big lore archetypes generally don't appear in the anime. The only exceptions being Gem-Knights, X-Sabers and Constellars, which were played by the LDS trio in ARC-V and Zoodiacs which randomly appeared in episode 1 of VRAINS.
Going into Fabled has never been the correct choice but Doug is a king for doing it anyway ngl honestly wasted opportunity for Gage to not go into the Crystal Beast pack. All the new cards are in that pack, Pegasus is at low rarity iirc, and he pulled the omni-negate counter trap. It had potential to be decent
I feel like gage had some better options still too. New crystal beasts are decent, and buster blader might not be that bad in sealed unless the lock is too high rarity.
@@LP-zn8sc Buster blader isnt too high of a rarity, but it is one of those decks that need specific high rarity card or cards to be playable (in the case of Gage he needs exactlzythe UR fusion), and when you cant guarantee said specific cards, it has shown throughout the seasons to be bad to go into secret packs that are like that Farfa tunneling on Numerons this episode and the 1st time is great example of that (the second time he had guaranteed UR craft so it was okay choice then)

One balance idea that occurs to me is giving winning players their big crafts, but giving losing players more packs to open next time. This would be extra chances to highroll good cards, but also more opportunities to find strong secret packs and try to catch up. Consistency in the form of crafts versus consistency in the form of secret pack options.
The fact that doug just has 3 Pretty Memory is cracked. If he sees the Purrely pack at any point, he just needs to pull a R Lyly and a SR Beauty to have a very powerful engine.

Something that may be worth considering for future formats is some sort of life line if a player struggles consistently. Like, you mentioned that you couldn't let a loser get a UR craft, since winning has to accomplish something... But perhaps you could put a rule in place where if you go 0-2 in three consecutive episodes, you get a UR craft, or something. It makes it to where winning is still ideal... you wouldn't throw games for it when you could just go 2-0 once and get the UR craft now, but it would at least be a lifeline if a player is flailing for too long, where they might otherwise keep falling behind.

@@Dzeeff Either a SR craft along the N/R crafts they usually get, five more secret packs, 4 total N/R crafts once. Make these the lifelines, available for each player to redeem over a consecutive 3-loss streak 0-2 to not encourage succesive losses each time. Once a duelist has used a lifeline they cannot use it again, so each of you must choose wisely when to activate which. This way each player has three pity tickets in case they pull dogwater or someone goes into the Striker pack for the πnth time. That's another rule you could put, players can't go into any secret pack more than twice. Unless its fabled of course.
@@Dzeeff maybe 5 secret packs of their choice (craft an SR to unlock the pack, dust it, and pull 5 packs)? obv also respecting the banned secret pack list. This way they're not guaranteeing the SR or higher in 10 packs but might be enough gas to enable some decks
For the finale, please allow each player to use some number of banned cards. I really like it when the finale shows off the best/iconic decks from the whole season rather than just the decks phlled in the last 5 episodes.
@@rainbowdash215 They did it in season1, then no banned cards were used in the season 2 finale. For season 3, they had a card from the deck of many things that let them each set a banned card to 1 and limited card to 3. And in season 4 no banned cards were freed for the finale.

A fun thing to do would be if a Royal Rare is pulled from a banned pack, the player who pulled it is allowed to go into that pack BUT there is a separate predetermined banlist for just that pack with no limit on the number of cards that can be hit because it was discussed beforehand.
Spoiler: I really wanted Dzeeff to go back into the Harpy pack, as Harpy Speedroid with royal Feather Storm would've been hilarious, but I understand that the Fabled took precedence over all.
I mean he would have to get decently lucky for that to work well, not in terms of high rarity, but in terms of missing exactly the cards he has and that were banned (both channeler and duster are UR that he would have to miss and that is a lot to ask for) not saying it would be horrible, since aside from cyber slash, he would not need to get that lucky to pull hunting ground and some real game changers like that, but its just frusatrating when your pack is minefield of bans and limits
Given how I once got to top 16 at a local playing Fabled and seeing Doug going 2-0 playing the same deck it's safe to assume Fabled is the best deck of any card game ever.

Conclave control alone has won games in Saga. It's a very easy pack to pull, and if you get Golden Rule, enables a bunch of rank 4 plays

He needs to go in there on the SR craft week so he can get the link-2. But Baronne is banned, and it just makes this deck be far less oppressive

I love how Farfa always crafts and bans specifically Gage. Like he does everything in his power to make shure Gage cant have fun. And it works! But the, he rages when he never prepared for Doug (even though Doug has the most wins 😂😂)

He meant it.. he wasn't joking. idk I always laugh when Dzeeff plays Fabled but it was AMAZING! omega powerful with legit plays.
Blessed be lord Dougzeeff, now we may see more complete archetypes with 15 packs.
At this point I'm half-convinced Dzeeff just kind of enjoys playing Fabled.
I've tried the Fabled Loaner deck during the previous event. I was able to build up to Trishula on my turn going second, and my opponent insta-scooped. Those little buggers can be a massive pain in the neck!
How the tables have turned Farfa and Gage pulling absolutely nothing and Doug getting an entire fabled engine.
