Origins is, in general, an amazing game, but the best part of the game has got to be the starting stories for each race and class! There are so many of them, and they are all interesting! They really help you get into the mindset of your character, and they really inform some decisions you make later in the game in different ways. Can't wait to see more of Mynt's story!

@@DarthTach It's funny how much people's favorite parts of this game can differ. My favorites would have to go: 1) Dwarf Commoner 2) Mage 3) Dwarf Noble 4) City Elf 5) Dalish Elf 6) Human Noble I always put Human Noble at the bottom, even over Dalish Elf because it's just so generic to me.
The outline of Dragon Age universe: People fears magic, elves excel in poverty and everyone hates them, humans are so-so and dwarves are bigots to their own kind. My favorite playthrough is any 'underdog' storyline, such as city elves or castless dwarf. Mages are awesome only if you play as Arcane Warrior. That class is broken. Otherwise, just play Morrigan or Wynne. Shapeshifter specialization probably is the most useless in the game. It's a shame they don't have apostate storyline as an option. Dalish apostate mage trained in Arcane Warrior would be awesome.
And the hero of Ferelden meets her most relentless enemy... the task bar, the bane of many who came before her and were stopped before their story could even begin.
In Thedas, trust nobody. It the Fade trust even less. Glad to see you are playing this. Going to be interesting to watch. Also, glad you picked Elf; it will be interesting to see some of your dialog choices in the game. Picking a race that is considered a second-class citizen and then also picking a Mage which is a class that is also repressed and feared. Great start.
Dragon Age Origins is such a gem, the story, the characters, it's all masterfully written. If there ever was a game where you should play it the way you like and make decisions you think your character would, Dragon Age Origins is the one. Seriously, this game has mastered the art of "there are no bad choices", so enjoy! I'm really, really excited for this playthrough!
I absolutely LOVE this game. I'm still holding out hope that they eventually remaster it or something because it's my favorite of the series, by far. I love the older style of RPG and the newer games got worse and worse as far as I'm concerned. But this one? 10/10.
Dragon Age origins is one of my all time favourite games. Can’t believe it’s been over 10 years since my first playthrough 🗿makes me feel kinda old. Hope you’ll have a good time playing it (:
Here's some tips! You can hold the tab key to highlight all interactables on screen. Also, when using WASD to walk around, you can hold down the right click to more easily control the camera. And for combat, if you find it annoying to click on a spell then target an enemy, you can instead left click an enemy, then any spell you click will automatically target them. You can also extend the quickbar to the entire length of the screen.
DRAGON AGE IS SO GOOD!!! I'm super happy for anyone to play these games, and getting to see someone play it for the first time is awesome, you won't regret getting it
city elf origin is my favorite!!! so many characters just totally suprised me with how much i love them. not to mention the great and fascinating worldbuilding!
@@theinquisitorisamage1653 Dual Wield Rogue all the way, I love the fact that by the end game you're just a monster dual wielding long swords like they're kitchen knives.
Dragon Age: Origins... among my favorite games of all time. Great characters and story, and a fantastic world and lore if you're into that. The amount of choices big and small in the game (and the number of ways you can help or royally f... over so many others) is amazing. This will be..... interesting. Enjoy!
I'm just listening to this in the background while I work because I've played through this scene like half a dozen times so I can see it visually without having to watch, and I heard Meg say something like "No, don't try to get me not to trust Mouse" and it made me grin in a mixed empathetic/sadistic sort of way.
The original and best, it's do damn replayable and represents Bioware at their very best IMO. if you enjoyed this, I'd defo go back and give Jade Empire a whirl (we desperately need a sequel), it's such a classic.
So excited for this playthrough. Mynt is such an icon and we love her. If you don’t agonize over customizing your characters in these kind of games then I feel sorry for your loss.
Hi Meg! I decided to watch all of your Dragon Age playthroughs from the beginning, since I was only present for parts of them on stream and I wanted to see your reactions to everything. ❤I love how pretty Mynt is and I like the tattoos you chose to give her; her name is so cute! Elf mage was also my very first playthrough in Dragon Age: Origins and remains my favorite combination to play; I just love the roleplay choices that it offers and how fun it is to play a mage. I'm excited to see what you've thought about other things in this game, as I continue watching. As always, I really enjoy watching your content and your reactions to things! ☺
I just found this channel, I am enjoying this playthrough so far. I LOVED dragon age origins and am excited to see you play this- although it has been some time since you played it. I also like your kind and silent demeanor, there are other reactors that are just over the top and either talk too much or engage with the chat way too much instead of playing the game etc. But I find your whole way of streaming very refreshing, thank you
Dwarven Commoner Warrior for me. I always loved the Commoner origins of having nothing and becoming a legend. Can't wait to take the journey with ya. You won't be disappointed.
Hi! I don’t know if you figured it out or not already, but you can get more bonus items by playing and completing 4 DLCs, that are separate from two main campaigns (they are their own short separate stories, but interconnected with one another by plot! Except for Darkspawn Chronicles, which is more like “what if” story…) These bonus items can be gained by meeting certain criterias, some of those just straightforward (like simply finishing DLC), some require additional tasks to be performed (you can spoil what those tasks are for yourself if you want in information about DLCs, that are downloaded and installed on your game, which could be accessed from main menu!), but once you meet all those criterias you will get corresponding items to be transferred to the main campaign in the beginning of the game (warning though - some of those items are not appearing in your inventory straight away as you will have to wait a little longer to get access to them…i can provide you with specifics if you want that to be spoiled to you…if not - then experiment yourself and find out!) Good luck with your playthrough!
This game is just pure nostalgia. The main soundtrack with the female voice harmonizing during the character creation brings to mind those days when I'd play the game from morning till evening😂 this game has a special place in my heart.
Dragon Age Origins was the first ever RPG I played and I absolutely loved it. I love Medieval stuff so this game was great for me. I've played every origin but my first and favorite one is Dalish Elf.
I love this can't wait for more ☺️ one tip on your free time you should read the dragon age books. They so good like the game, plus the fill in a little more on the history or lore, and you get to know a little more about some of the dragon age characters.
I'm loving this Bioware double feature of Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect Andromeda! I hope you enjoy both. And the cool thing from the Dragon Age Origins character creator, is that you'll hear about the other characters you could have chosen to be at the beginning, they'll of course be dead because you didn't choose to play as that background. For instance I played as a Human royal, and the character and background you chose, are mentioned in my story, as are the others.
Finally a good play through as an elf all the other ones dont have commentary or bad quality but thankfully i found this i love seeing similar reactions like that mouse being the demon all along instantly made me know this was a great rpg great video thank you!
Between KotOR era and Dragon Age - Mass Effect era, there was an obscure game made by Bioware called Jade Empire. It was done in the style of Bioware RPGs, complete with non linear decisions, intricate skill trees and character romance. But instead of western theme, it's wuxia, aka Chinese fantasy. Martial arts and demons. It was awesome.
So, I came to known your channel because of Assassins Creed... Now I discovered that you have Mass Effect and Dragon Age playlists. Well, I know what I'm spending my popcorn money for in the next weeks. Thanks a lot for editing and sharing so many videos so far!
Female Dwarven Noble (DA:O) then Male Rogue Hawke (DA2) and then Female Elven Mage (DAI) for me. I've replayed the games a few times, and I've to say, I can't remember the last time a game series this long turned the whole lore I **thought** I knew upside down then laughed at my bafflement (in a good way). After you finish Inquisition (especially if you play the DLCs) it's like almost every single codex entry suddenly has a new hidden meaning or clue. I really hope they consider polishing the old games in the next decades, I would love to experience everything all over again with hi-poly 3d models and a little extra game design polish.
Love Dragon Age, as much as Mass Effect... haven't played in a while though, I've played Dragon Age: Origins several times one playthrough, as a male rouge character named Robin Hood and another I did was a female elf mage... named her Zelda (as in Legend of Zelda), lol. I kind of miss my cute & funny Andrasten worshipping Qunari mage character from my Dragon Age: Inquisition game (If I remember right I think I named her Andraste just to be extra funny)... ;)
"I don't like this nose" "It needs to be wider" "I need to be able to see her ears" "No just... no" Commenter: "that hair doesn't work with that tattoo" "Um excuse me that's like a harmful stereotype and I want to be able to present myself however I want and we've had to endure a long history of being treated blah blah blah" Are you for real dude

Love this game your gonna love the characters unlike ME the choices aren't as black and white there is grey it's more on the reactions of your companions and what they think of you.
Thank you for the LP! Excited to dive into the series!!! Can I ask if you played this on steam? Because when I purchased from steam originally it was scuffed and I mean SCUFFED. The graphics were like Minecraft 😂 so just curious because it looks great here! Thanks again!!
Just bought a new laptop. Wonder whether I should play first three DA games, or better wait for the fourth one. I have watched so many playthroughs of the first three over the years, that I already know almost everything. And I barely have enough time for work and other hobbies as it is 🤔
As a teen: i viewed mages as essentially black people and the templars as white cops. Now as a much more matured adult i can say that they're both right
Tranquility, is creepy it's one of those things that you can picture started innocently, and with good intentions. 'Protect people from something really bad...' but over time, slowly as it's usefulness became obvious.... well it was only those freaks seperated from everyone else...
Yup, because it like many things, abused by those in power. Instead of last resort it can be used as punishment of rivals and personal vendetta. Kinda like when I hear 'think about the kids', I auto have doubts what comes next.
As great as the DA:O can be, it's even better with mods if you can (and have time) to install some. Also the game suffers from some instability issues and there are many fixes that can be applied to correct them, or at least reduce them
About a year ago, I tried to replay as my human arcane Warrior with a Mod giving access to dual-wielding abilities. Unfortunately, the game kept crashing.
So the tattoos really have different meanings the on you chose is a brand for the mages dalish elves have there own tattoos dwarfs have there two types upper class nobles and commoners lower class tattoos city elves and humans and mages can all choose from the same tattoos but the one eye specifically is a brand of mages as a bad mark against them to brand them like how the commoner dwarfs are tattooed but it looks great and I love the look on my mages
lmfao you name your characters the same way I do, I tend to choose a colour of makeup and then decide what their name should be based off that colour and end up googling gemstones with the colour or plants with the colour and name them that gemstone or plant lol
Hello fellow streamer and DA gamer, how are you and your going to love this game. If you have any questions I would like to connect with you and we could possibly become friends maybe.
Meg Mage I heard about there is Dragon Age 4 Its a great game Hope you can play Skyrim as well online ones sound good and Ps5 games Ratchet and Clank The Rift Hitman 3 I am going to expertise more as well I need to know you on discord as well
Thanks, but man, you need a pc, there are so many amazing mods for this game. Also, you may want to play every Origin at some point and then just pick up the game with your favorite. City Elf Female and Male have different perspectives which is cool, and the City Elf Female is the hardest of the Origins, followed by Dwarven Noble.
So during the Xbox 360 era the Mass Effect trilogy was definitely my favorite and where I spent most of my time. So I didn't get a chance to try biowares other role-playing game which is Dragon Age. However I did play Dragon Age Inquisition and I loved it I just didn't play the first two games. Part of me I guess was hoping for kind of a remaster like they just did with Mass Effect. However watching you play through this will definitely help glean more context into what I experienced during Inquisition. Although I did go back and read a bunch of lore and get a sense of some of the characters & the history and things of that nature. Still not quite a replacement for playing the games but this will be good for me as well. I do remember tranquil. It's like magical and emotional castration. 😬 It's horrible.
@@MegMage yeah it's pretty bad it's part of the reason why I played Inquisition I decided to be a mage but not in the "circle". That was a conversation I ended up arguing over with several characters in Dragon Age Inquisition. But moral/ethical conversations like that are in my opinion would make BioWare RPGs good games. That in the characters you end up just loving.
Man, and as good as this Origin is, you actually picked the LEAST intense Origin. IMO, the most intense is the City Elf as a female elf, then the human noble, then the dwarf noble.

It sounds like being made tranquil is similar to a transorbital lobotomy.
there is a mod that makes the dialogue text larger on nexus
Just bought a new laptop. Wonder whether I should play first three DA games, or better wait for the fourth one. I have watched so many playthroughs of the first three over the years, that I already know almost everything. And I barely have enough time for work and other hobbies as it is 🤔
I swear the names are always THE hardest to come up with
Right?! Even worse when your playing an MMO and its already picked.
first thought after seeing a templar: "i'm getting republican vibes"
people nowadays good lord
Started out by playing the 3rd game of the franchise??
That's like watching "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome" before watching the first film
Great video
As a teen: i viewed mages as essentially black people and the templars as white cops. Now as a much more matured adult i can say that they're both right
welcome to my favourite game :-)
Tranquility, is creepy it's one of those things that you can picture started innocently, and with good intentions. 'Protect people from something really bad...' but over time, slowly as it's usefulness became obvious.... well it was only those freaks seperated from everyone else...
Yup, because it like many things, abused by those in power. Instead of last resort it can be used as punishment of rivals and personal vendetta. Kinda like when I hear 'think about the kids', I auto have doubts what comes next.
This is actually a good time to play for the first time as Andromeda has quite a few callbacks to the Origins style.
As great as the DA:O can be, it's even better with mods if you can (and have time) to install some.
Also the game suffers from some instability issues and there are many fixes that can be applied to correct them, or at least reduce them
Da has no stability issues. Never used mods, never had issues.
About a year ago, I tried to replay as my human arcane Warrior with a Mod giving access to dual-wielding abilities. Unfortunately, the game kept crashing.
Good job:3 keep it up i really enjoyed:3
Seeing her start with spell shield was painful, c'mon chat, do your job.
My favorite RPG game
So the tattoos really have different meanings the on you chose is a brand for the mages dalish elves have there own tattoos dwarfs have there two types upper class nobles and commoners lower class tattoos city elves and humans and mages can all choose from the same tattoos but the one eye specifically is a brand of mages as a bad mark against them to brand them like how the commoner dwarfs are tattooed but it looks great and I love the look on my mages
Good luck, young mage
No idea if you still check comments on this vid but: who do you romance in this playthrough?? 😂
you play the best gamess, the best gamer in many time
lmfao you name your characters the same way I do, I tend to choose a colour of makeup and then decide what their name should be based off that colour and end up googling gemstones with the colour or plants with the colour and name them that gemstone or plant lol
Hello fellow streamer and DA gamer, how are you and your going to love this game. If you have any questions I would like to connect with you and we could possibly become friends maybe.
Meg Mage I heard about there is Dragon Age 4 Its a great game Hope you can play Skyrim as well online ones sound good and Ps5 games Ratchet and Clank The Rift Hitman 3 I am going to expertise more as well I need to know you on discord as well
The best Dragon Age game.
You do know Elves are supposed to look like that right? Elves usually have high cheek bones and a small nose
Origins was the game that kept me on 360 until i finally bought a xbox 1 to play FO4 when it was released ( i was so disappointed by FO4)
So you decided to be a mage, uh? Welcome to the world where people believe been a mage is as bad as if you have murdered an entire family :D
This needs remastered after kotor
Thanks, but man, you need a pc, there are so many amazing mods for this game. Also, you may want to play every Origin at some point and then just pick up the game with your favorite. City Elf Female and Male have different perspectives which is cool, and the City Elf Female is the hardest of the Origins, followed by Dwarven Noble.
She’s playing on PC! Installed a few mods too! You’ll see in the next video 😁
@@shmayleb Oh, cool
40:42 Urgh, was hyped to see someone play this game, but seems she is one of "those"
spoiler alert: I probably am whatever you're thinking 🥰
Move along, lil buddy
They almost always are LOL. I just try to roll my eyes and ignore whatever nonsense they’re saying
Oh yay! Happy to have you on the journey! I'm loving it so far. The chantry is...something else. Poor tranquils 🥺
Did kitchen nightmares get their little EeeEErreea thing from dragon age origins or is it the other way around?
Neither got it from the other I would imagine. It's just a stock sound.
Man, and as good as this Origin is, you actually picked the LEAST intense Origin. IMO, the most intense is the City Elf as a female elf, then the human noble, then the dwarf noble.
yeah city elf was way fucked up i remember being like "they put this in a game?" lol
@@skyhawkslcb18 It certainly motivates you.
@@Taliesyn42 the dwarf ones and the is just as bad.
