I applaud all who worked to bring back to Life an Iconic AMERICAN BRAND!! Bravo!
Sweet ride, I love my Scout. Now I want the Chief/Challenger. Maybe after I pay this one off since I will be keeping it!
Excellent! And now it's time for the Indian engineers to go back to their drawing board for a new Scout.
Just got my 2021 and I love it!
LOVE THE INDIANS AND HARLEYS BOTH ARE JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
I have ridden Harleys for over 53 year now and for the past SEVERAL years I have been disgusted with the DECLINING quality and INCREASING prices !.....they know they have problems and rather than addressing them, they seem to do everything they can to IGNORE them !......I have several vintage Harleys as well as an '05 Springer Classic.....this new INDIAN has my attention !.......HARLEY, are you watching (and listening) ?
I have owned three Harleys and currently ride a Road King. I have to say, these machines are friiggin beautiful. I hope they go as well as they look. Good luck Indian, I might even test ride one....
I just got a 13 Road Glide Custom. Like you, I would love to have an Indian chieftain in my garage. I was unaware that they were coming out with a bagger. With the backing, and awesome rep, Indian brand should be a good competitor with Harley.
It's great to support 'the home teams' so long as they make quality products that are refined! Polaris has proven that with Victory. With all the R&D they've done with Indian, I feel their future seems assured! I wish I could say the same for H-D, but the refinement and quality of their products are by no means what they should be!
Bought my 2014 used in 4/2022. Indian Vintage, a good move for me at 76 y.o. nice Ride.
Until such time as you have seen these motorcycles up close and personal, you will not be able to fully appreciate them. Saw them yesterday in Sydney, Australia. They are stunningly well presented and offer good value for money. There goes my Vegas, which replaced The Dyna Glide, which replaced the Sportster, which replaced a 20 year old Yamaha. Each better than the former. There is a reason it looks like a Kawa Drifter, the KD was a copy of the Indians!
I just hope this iteration will last long enough to actually challenge Harley. Competition is good and helps improve everything.
What are you mounted on now, a pink fold up scooter?
I hate the look of the fenders, but these 2014s have an awesome ride. Seriously thinking of getting one and chopping it. Lots of power, nice smooth ride, stable, and super comfortable. The Vintage is like a Road King, only bigger and smoother.
Let them work the 'bugs' out of the Chief and have it prove itself. I believe a Scout is in the works and should be available in a few years. With Polaris' track record, I think Indian's future is almost assured. I'd LOVE to see them come out with an entry-level bike with about a 900cc engine in the $7-9K range to go up against the Sportster!
Own 6 HD's now...I want an Indian!!
Having 8 years experience as a motor cop riding HD's I swore I'd never ride an American motorcycle that I paid for. This new Indian has me seriously considering adding one to my stable of mostly Euro bikes. I ride Triumphs ,KTM, Ducatis and Husabergs now. I have nothing good to say about anything made by HD so I won't say anything at all. I will say that an Indian will be in my garage this coming year!
My understanding they will expand their model line up later as they rebuild and stabilize the company. The Chief models are awesome but I'm waiting for the Scout to come along again.
Kool when is it coming to India I am wating for it.
Very Nice. With the HD fiasco of Chain Cam Tensioners, low quality oil pumps, overpriced parts in their boutiques, etc. (I know, I own 3 motorcycles - 2 Harleys) of which the Motor Company turned a blind-eye to, it’s nice to see another alternative and these are good looking bikes. If they are as reliable and ride as well as they look, I'm sure one of these will find its way into my stable. I'm really optimistic and excited about the new Indian motorcycles under Polaris.
nice videos
You're right. I think you'd be crazy to ride a bike without ABS today. It's WAY more important on a bike than a car. I know a lot of riders would still be alive if they'd had ABS. I know it sounds stupid, but BMW is even experimenting with an airbag!:) Of course it's JUST for front collisions. I THINK it MIGHT have saved my friend that broadsided a mini van that turned in front of him.
michael, do you have a definitive percentage mark for just how American the harleys are at this point in time? i have had the local H.D. people try to find out. they sounded very much like a company with much to hide! in fact, when they come back and say they couldn't actually give me a number, well it makes one wonder. then, on another occasion, i got no further when talking to H.D. types further up the ladder.
Wonder if Polaris is still going to make the Victory now that they have an iconic name brand to sale. No matter what the commercial says, it is a Polaris with an Indian name plate.
Really well designed!! looks like the originals which is the best part :) Indian Motorcycles keep it up :)
Love the Chieftain, very nice look and I like the electronic display. Good job Indian!
I think that will be the next step. My guess is that it will be another few years before it's introduced. Whatever happens, I hope that the same quality and refinement that they seemed to have put in the Chief carries over; and that the price is reasonable.
quiero que me regalen una indian o les tiro una maldicion y les fundo la fabrica como hice con victory motorcycles
@ Ken Hager...you know, you are very priviledged!!! Owner # 1 in Australia!! BTW, which bike did you end up picking?
I see what you mean. Personally I like these models a lot, I do prefer the old ones and I'm hoping they release a scout eventually, but these bikes seem great to me. Too bad you don't like 'em!
Gonna be interesting to see the various models that come out besides the Chief. Like any Red Blooded American Biker, I would love to own one but I think I will sit back and let them make about 1/2 a million of them so theres plenty of parts and...Let this cool looking American made Motor prove itself...
I can't think of any other Motorcycles that can compete with Harley, they have had the market for a while now!
Lisa, I could not have said it better myself! Ride safe,
I just tried the Indian, you should try one. The engine, but also the frame, they are not even comparable to Harley. Polaris has done a great job with these bikes, technically far superior to Harley, really.
Alan Cathcart gave it the thumbs up. That's good enough for me
Beauty in motion
Indian is their premium heritage brand, not everybody wants or can afford that and that's where Victory comes in, more modern styling at an affordable price. Polaris aren't going to kill off their cash cow bike brand just because they've relaunched Indian, it would be hellishly stupid.
And "badge engineering" has been around from the start and everybody dose it.
Can't wait to get mine. You know, engineering a sidecar wouldn't be a bad idea....
Good looking bikes. Do they have ABS? I wouldn't buy a new bike without ABS.
Nice job :) Hope the Scout is next on the drawing board.
I own a Harley Davidson 2011 street glide, I love my bike and also think that this new Indian is a damn nice bike backed by a very wealthy company. I wish them the best and if I had the extra money I would certainly add one to my garage. before anybody makes any negative comments about the bike they should probably not be so ignorant and maybe do a little research on this great american iconic brand. that means YOU yuppie, weekend warrior, riding for a fashion statement wanna be biker.
Which market? The ride to the bar market? Yep cornered that one.
My Harley was so undependable that I switched to Victory. Short in wiring, primary drive issues, and clutch issues.
Assembled in Wisconsin!
Looks alot better in pictures, just not crazy about all that extra tin,or the look of motor.havent seen a lot of these around my area, but i am hoping for them to make it. It will make harly try to be even better if they do.
Those are some damn nice bikes. Wow!
Actually, no, it has a bespoke engine and frame. So I am not sure where you are getting your information from.
um espetaculo em 2 rodas ,acabamento e linhas insuperaveis
Nice looking bikes
Im a Harley guy, but WELCOME BACK CHIEF!
Well, everything new to the Market gets a "Bump" in sales. I'm a H-D rider 38 yrs. Indian will need crossover buyers to gain Market share. It will be hard given the Brands spotty past staying power. Going out of business 3 times. I know that Polaris has made a strong commitment this time around, so maybe 4 will be the charm. I love anything "AMERICAN" best of luck to you Guys. I really like the "Vics", I wish they had a single pin crank and sounded better. Just my 2 cents.
Sure they do, but if Polaris can make the Indian marque stick this time, Harley will finally have some real competition again. Bring on the arms race.
Félicitation aux ingénieurs Indian, merci
Actually, I like Harleys. Fact is, there's probably no better deal on the market for a 1200cc bike than an $8,000 Sportster. Love the Softail Fatboys and last Springers.
What would you have done different on the new Indian?!?!?! I'm not a fan of the new alu-frame because you won't be able to hang a sidecar from it. You cannot see the cool old tubular frame, but I reckon that's a trade-off for weight and performance.
Not totally thrilled about a unit construction power train...
Nice looking bikes, to bad their is no 12k-15k model on the market. Not a huge demand for a 18k+ bike
Bestoftherest222 The new Scout starts out at $10,999.
Ppp
cant wait to get one.....
Magnificent bike!!!
Looks like the Harley vs Indian war has started (again).....bring it on!!
The only thing I don't like is the passengers seat. The one on my Honda Goldwing has a big comfortable seat with a nice backrest. The riders seat is also more comfortable and a lot safer to stay on the bide with.
Dick Baublitz xpi
the world need another indian scout
Fantastic bikes!!!!Great!!!!
Ooops. My bad. My wife was logged in and I was apparently on her account.
The rest still stands.
Maybe you'd like a GoldWing? They were made in the USA up until a couple of years ago...
well the battle ground has been set and lines have been drawn, lets see if Harley can top these beasts.
Very nice but I'm not a fan of the side panel that flows into the rear fender. Too plasticy looking.
But really, what kinda connection with the past do you want?!?!?
A true sidevalve/flathead engine?
A kick-starter?
Manual advance?
Cable operated drum brakes, clutch and carbs?
Magneto?
I've got bikes like that. They're cool, but not always fun. In fact, tomorrow I'll probably be pulling the flathead out of my bike since it is overdue for a rebuild.
Nice
I can only hope it's not like the last come back, with the bottle-cap engine, the weak electronics, and oil leaks! It was a conglomeration of aftermarket parts that stayed in the shop more than on the road. Yeah, it had a warranty, but the dealer couldn't fix it. He was out of business in no time... Stuck with a heap now.
I cant wait for the youtube flame wars to begin! And... GO!!!
Harley needs to get with the times. Victory and now Indian are jumping ahead.
I resemble that remark!
Spoken like a true Indian fanboy on the payroll.
Would have been a better bike If John Britten had lived long enough to design the bikes for Indian. Shame they couldn't produce a modern bike as well as the more traditional bikes like triumph have done
Harley charges you tons more if you want the 110 c.i. engine. Indian and Victory make their most powerful engine standard equipment. I really love the Harley Fat Bob, but would love it a lot more if Harley would get off the pot and make the 110 as standard equipment.
Yeah but their cheapest bike is 18k, and ugly as hell.
Caleb Dennison Wait to you price an Indian. Cheapest Harley would be a Sportster. If you want to play, you gotta pay....
those are bad-ass! i want one
Indian did not go out of business it is hard for everybody to go out and spend 37 to 40 K on a scooter it was not a mass produced motorcycle
Good looking bike, but I'll read the reviews in a couple of years.
The only way to get a Chief now is to get a used one. For 2021 they dropped the Chief. Now the model is the Vintage.
You spoke too soon my man😁 indian baby!
No Indian Scout or Indian 4 I wish that they make a more sporty bike and call it Burt Munro Special or something not all of us are into cruisers something for the younger generation to get into American motorcycles like the Buell did for us until it's demise in 2010 screw Harley lol I miss Buell I do like the EBR 1190RS although it cost 40 grand okay enough ranting.
Look great :-)
So, what you're saying is that you're not actually a motorcycle enthusiast. I don't care for cruisers, but damn if I'm not excited to see Indian backed with Polaris' clout. It's good news across the board, no matter what sort of riding a person does.
I think they all come standard with ABS.
Beautiful looking bikes, but way out of my budget :(
Why so small wheels?? Is it scooter or what?
Honda, Star and Suzuki make bikes for people like you. ...
buy a V-max to see what you call fun riding.
We're talking American here!
Indian thanks, I went back to dream......
Hmm. My SR500 is kick-start only...takes real commitment.
I would like to see Indian produce an all electric Indian Chief. That would blow Harley to hell.
*****
Ya you are right. Well, then how about a 2000cc version.
And wait till you see what they REALLY COST by the time its all said an done....STRIPPED DOWN its $18.999 and I would have PAID $25,000 for a TRUE looking and wheel spec-ed Indian.... Being a HARD CORE INDIAN MAN with many under my built, I'M Extremely disappointed.....I'm not a Poser Biker that started riding when the Chopper TV Shows made it Cool again, I was already there and have been since I got my drivers license at 16....1975 ... Yeah, right now, Harley is better then my beloved Indians!
मुझे लेना हे इंडियन chef
NEW Commercial: The Stanford Rebels.
watch?v=tm1CTWzSt-Y
enjoy it!
SWAG
Although I don't agree with you, I respect your opinion. However, I do have a question, if you don't like Indian bikes what in the world are you doing here?...
Why all the negative HARLEY comments? Indian knows they need "US" to buy an INDIAN. Some Zipper Head, Inner City Gang Banger, or wannabe Moto-GP Champ on a Ninja, is not their target Market.
fab......:)
All the talk and not a single sound clip of the motor...
Project Rushmore?!?!?
Hahaha! You're too funny!
Drop 6 bikes from last year's line-up, add some gaudy, candy paint jobs, some USB ports and a smart phone docking station. Oh and let's add a few water-cooled engines to the line-up but, but not call them water-cooled because...that's just not cool on an American bike.
Ooooooh...Project Rushmore.
I think H-D just handed Indian its first banner year on a silver platter!
3rd times a charm?
I am very much a motorcycle enthusiast, but I can't stand modern American bikes. They all look the same. And i'm not alone!
DUH. Well, that's a stupid question. Isn't it logical that a motorcycle enthusiast would peruse many different bike videos?
He llo
