Wow. I just learned about the 1932 one. Wow, i must say Paccino definetely studied the original's mannerism there's some gestures that are just too similar to be coincidence (or merely read on script) 😮 ..... Just after my comment, i found this (Paccino saying how inspirational it was to watch the original film) th-cam.com/video/Ei-my4rrW_g/w-d-xo.html
Poppy was into Tony way more than Elvira was into Tony. Poppy was actually nice and got along well and seemed interested in the things Tony found interesting. I like her.
I remember seeing somewhere that they were originally going to remake the 1932 version, with it being about mobsters rather than drug dealing Cubans, and had it set in Chicago but had to change it for budgetary reasons. I don't know how true that it is, but I'd love to see an alternate universe where it was remade as the typical mobster movie just like the 32 version, with Pacino playing just a regular mob Tony rather than Cuban Tony
This is a list of what i believe might be the complete counterparts in both films: Tony Camonte - Tony Montana Louis Costillo - Cuban Pro-Castro Politician Cesca Camonte - Gina Montana Guino Rinaldo - Manny Rivera Poppy - Elvira Johnny Lovo - Frank Lopez Mrs Camonte - Mama Montana Angelo - Chi-Chi Gangsters at the Cafe - Gangsters in a Department Cesca's First Date (Dancing Man) - Gina's First Date (Man in Public Bathroom) Guino's First Date - Manny's First Date Lovo's Men Hiding in a Car - Frank's Men Hiding Their Weapons with Tablecloth Police Men - Sosa's Mafia Men Unknown Police Man - The Skull
It may sound strange but I agree with your point cause 1932 movie has less propaganda of crime and even the ending is better and realistic imho. I've just seen the original yesterday and it impressed me no less than the remake I've seen so many times.

Oh thanks very much for sharing the video, super interesting 😍

To be honest I don't think any woman deserves to deal with Tony 😂
Tony Camonte - From hitman to a gang boss
Tony Montana - From dishwasher to a cocaine kingpin
I obviously heard about the 1983 version of Scarface.
It's because of the making of the 1982 version that I learned about the 1932 one
And because of existence of 1932 we have 1983!
Both films are excellent
Yes they are 😍
