I'm the only two handed in one Saturday Youth league and 1 of 2 in my second Saturday league, under 12. In both of them I've had parents complain about me and it ruins the fun for me. In my two sport shot leagues there is an even number of two and one handed bowlers and I have more fun even if the oil is a million times harder. When I go and practice sometimes people talk to my parents and ask questions and its neat showing how I bowl. Other times they try two handed after watching me and all they do is gutter
I never realized putting your non-bowling arm (left for me) in front could add 1 mph. I'm using it for balance to my left though. I will incorporate this into my approach. Thanks! Great videos!
Amleto Monacelli is my no. 1 favorite bowler of all time! He's got such a unique style that I've never seen anyone even try to emulate. Always seems like a super nice guy too.
I was a pair next to Amleto at my second ever PBA regional. I accidentally jumped him a couple times because I was still getting used to one pair courtesy. He didn't seem to happy about it so I approached him about it after, apologizing for jumping him. He was just like "it's cool" and walked away. He struggled that day, only averaged like 201 or so and missed match play by I think 30 or so pins. So it was understandable that he didn't want to be bothered.
Thanks for a very informative video. I try to catch every one of your posts. If you ever have a chance bring one of your clinics to central Florida. Happy Holidays ‼️
Hey Arthur, have a wonderful holiday season, and keep those videos coming. And I see your coach of the year! Great! You are good coach! And Best of the new year also. Regards Phil
Merry Christmas Coach !!!! ... Happy Holidays !!! ... wishing you all the very best throughout 2023 and beyond! .. Things are going very well for you and only getting better!!!
5:30 Putting surface on a pearl ball makes it hooks LESS when it comes to overall power/roll. Only thing it really does is make it enter the hook phase earlier.
been busy with new role as head coach of Adelphi University women's bowling team and our producer getting a promotion at his job we will be putting out new content soon
As someone who has bowled one handed for 43 years, I have no problem with two handed bowlers and like watching their amazing shots. Yes, two handed bowlers can and do put more power on the ball. But that was true before two handed bowling was made possible by big hooking balls and synthetic lanes. Some bowlers just have more power than others. There are bowlers with long arm power, there are bowlers with belly power, and there are bowlers with neither (me). But it doesn't matter because in bowling accuracy and power are equally important. Young two handed bowlers feel confident they can easily beat this 66 year old bowler to discover they can't. They have tons of revs but don't have the accuracy of Mr. Belmonte so they leave challenging pickups while I stick to leaving 10 pins. At the highest level, the best two handed pro bowlers have an advantage over the best one handed pro bowlers. But it only tips the likely outcome a little and doesn't guarantee victory.
A few years back I lost my index finger or the pointing finger next to the thumb Years ago I had it drilled for my pinky and the finger next to it. I've just bought 2 new balls and decided to go back with the your regular 2 fingers that you actually put in it and your thumb My question is what disadvantage of using the pinky and the one next to it versus your regular 2 fingers and your thumb. is there a disadvantage or what in your opinion is the disadvantage in losing your pointing finger
So my question Is , I can get my arm swing to go past my shoulder, but when I do I can't hook the ball at the bottom, I just throw a straight rocket can you help me fix that
If I can't make the clinic, I have 2 questions. Will you be running other one's throughout the year? And, are you available for individual coaching? I would be traveling in from SC.
Floor dumper code: -No 2 handed -Everyone only gets one reactive ball and one plastic ball and that's it -No urethane -No lofting past the arrows -Every ball has to have exactly three holes no more no less -Lanes should be made of wood only lol
@@kevincummings8546 He was joking. But yes I HAVE heard floor dumpers say that about left handers, saying "well they deal with less oil so they can feed it up 5 all day on every pattern" as they miss their 69th single pin spare of the set.
And about two handed bowling...you're still throwing the ball with ONE hand, you're just releasing it with that one hand at the last second. There's nothing "two handed" about it. Isn't like you're throwing it "granny style" where you physically throw the ball with both hands. These floor dumpers who are stuck in the 1970s who want two handed bowling to be banned and who say that they used to average like 269 before everyone started throwing urethane now but they magically can't cover a spare because of the thane don't seem to understand that. Throwing it two handed is the same as throwing without a thumb, you're just supporting the weight of the ball differently. And I'll be honest, and this is a super hot take but hear me out; anything that doesn't directly damage the lanes, ball returns, or pins should be allowed in bowling. Balance holes? Should be allowed. Altering surface during play? Should be allowed. What, we can use interchangable grips and stuff but can't use balance holes? We can change slide covers on our shoes but can't change the surface of equipment? What, guys like Jason Eubanks can loft a 16lb ball to the lane markers which can straight up destroy lanes but he can't take the polish off a ball he's throwing? That's absurd. Those rules never made any sense to me, currently don't, and never will.

I just learned today that putting more pressure on index finger improves your grip which helps with your swing
Great information Arthur. I hope you had a great Christmas and I wish you and your family a happy and prosperous 2023.

yes and yes i have ron hatfiels coming in May and constantly give private lessons
What's the closest airport to the clinic you are hosting?
JFK or Laguardia
Yeah stop 2handed bowling, that's cheating!! 😂😂 jkjk
samething they said about lefthanders when they started winning, claiming they had had an unfair advantage and should be bowling right-handed.
@@kevincummings8546 that makes no sense at all
