Is this the Best camping in dawki?
I am not so sure if this is the best camping in dawki, however Frans campsite is surely good than few other campsites I saw in that area. But there are luxury campsites too in Dwaki, but they might be more costlier than this one.
Its situated in the riverbed and hence way to tents is through big stones and one need to be careful while walking.
They have made new toilts (2 nos) however they have not fitted lights in toilets, so we used paid toliets nearby where there was light available.
Food was served near tents only and was okay like (not fantastic like other homestays in Meghalaya)
Tents are specious and good.
Nights are too windy here so its difficult to sleep inside tents with winds blowing whole night and tent making noise.
You feel like the tent will fly away with you !!!
They gave us campfire which was good.
Note -
Senior citizens better not to camp in river beds, I mean any campsites here.
Since way to the tents will be through the riverbed and may be there are chances of injury.
Also going to toilet during night time becomes big issue.
So I suggest elderly people not to camp but to find good homestay nearby.
