This is out of left field and hopefully you see it but her face has been ringing my memory Bell's, do you know if Danielle spent any time growing up in Maple Ridge when she was quite Young. It's literally been driving me wild for years and it came to me the other night where I recognized her face from, the girls I'm thinking about their mom was from Red Deer their dad was a cop,, so upon seeing that she's from Red Deer but there's some ambiguity stating that she's also from the Lower Mainland it's really making me think my memory Bells could be right
Love this song! Lost my playlists a year or so back and forgot about this song and it just came on the radio and I heard that bass hook over my headphones and downloaded instantly. Love this song, such a vibe
How in the inconceivable hell does this not have millions of views, likes? Pop music is full of thoughtless repetition and lyrics that are so simplistic they make you feel dumb from just hearing them once. This band however transcends modern pop and indie music with a powerful message and an artistically liberating sound. All those that skip this song, this band are missing out on some incredible tunes from a class act. I've met them at The Sanctuary in Ridgeway and they are super nice people. Words cannot express how underrated, close they are to my heart and soul. Thank you Dear Rouge!!! Justin Sherk
@@tonyrigido2351 I would say it that it more so loosens us up so we can let the creativity out, a little defrag to collect the pieces and make it something coherent.
Not a riff it’s a bass line. The low note you’re hearing is a G (3rd fret, low E) the first part is the 5th fret A string hammer on to 7th then jump to that low G. The finishing part of the line is on the 5th fret D string then hammer on to 7th fret again. Figured it out by ear. Can’t write tabs. Sorry if this sounds complicated
The uncanny ability for Dear Rouge to create such immediately catchy songs is nuts! This isn't only one of my favorite Canadian bands, this is one of my favorite bands...period! Much love!!
I was a volunteer at Ottawa's Bluesfest before the pandemic happened. I was walking across the field before the gates opened, alone with a few hundred kilowatts of audio power. My internal organs started to vibrate.... and then she started to sing. Wow..... and that was just the sound check. I've been a fan ever since. :)
LOVE this song, even better live!! Just saw them last night, and this song was as groovy as it gets! That bass hook is mesmerizing, her vocal performance flawless - honestly, she sounds as good or better in a live setting!
Got to see them live in Halifax at a little show I won tickets from live 105 and actually got to met Drew... awesome down to earth person. You guys sound as good if not better live as on the album.
Heard on radio - > just remembered 'through the night' --> mad search --> check canada top 20 top 40 top 100 --> no then land here. Amazing bass. Why is it not more famous.
Great stuff it's nice to see that there artists out there today that are staying in line with Harry, Hyndes, and Lennox... dear Rouge originates does Not Duplicate
A lot of great Canadian music. Rush,Mahogany Rush,April Wine, BTO , Trooper,The Guess Who. Honeymoon Suite. Moxy ,Helix, Street heart. The lead singer Bernie Shaw has been the lead singer for British heavy metal band , Uriah Heep for 35 years or so. A lot of talented people who are super talented.
I think, and I've been in and out of recording studios for a lot of years and listen to a lot of s*** and knowing a lot of musicians, I think this is one of the best produced pieces of music and videos ever.
I have loved this band since 2015. They are so awesome. I went to see them at London Music Hall where lights was the headliner. I missed them when they were in London back in the fall of 2015.
@@LuigiFlorini80 ya when i moved to London ontario from Peterborough in July of '16, i wanted to find a good rock station, Peterborough has the wolf which really seems to only play 5 songs lol but i also like Jack fm good mix of 70s-90s
One word sum’s it up WOW what a great song.Heard it for the first time driving home from Christmas shopping and couldn’t wait to hear it again and again and was so surprised that it was 4 years ago when it was released.
They've been featuring a lot more home grown talents lately; Beachs, Arkells, Dear Rouge...all great but underappreciated Canadian bands that could use more exposure.
Mlyn666 you heard this on the radio in Winnipeg????? I’m from Winnipeg and have been listening to Dear Rouge for years and never knew that they were on the radio here!! Wow.... 😮
That's my cousin on guitar Drew, and his beautiful wife Danielle on vocals. Proud of you guys. Love that bass hook on this song!

It makes my head hurt that groups like this get overlooked
Shhhh………..our secret
Right on Justin
I think in pop music you have to be 16 years old to have success.
Damn I love you Canadians you guys make the best alternative
Its the weed up here...
..adds to the creative abilities of all us musicians. Seriously though these guys have strong talent

Yup
haha, you are actually quite correct when I think about it All the bands in this style seem to be Canadian in the majority sense
Living in Maine we hear plenty of awesome Canadian bands on radio. 🙂
How good is that opening riff, instant hook.
Are there any guitar tabs for it

Hey there friends to the south!!
Don't forget 88.7 the X..
Dear Rouge, you are amazing.
Sincerely, an American.
Such a unique and powerful song, I've taught myself a rendition of it on the acoustic guitar and I love to jam with it from time to time.
This is gold. Too bad music doesn't really sell music anymore.

This band is amazing. That singer is unbelievably talented. Cant stop listening to them.
Best Canadian song I heard in 2018, best two or three overall. Bought both your cd's when this started hitting the radio.

This is the best song from the last three years.
hook/ed.
needless to say, the best ad to ever pop up on youtube.
How I discovered it too, need more ads like that.
I wish more songs with sweet ass bass lines like this would come on the radio to drive to. This one could afford to be played more, for that matter.
This deserves so many more views.
Been looking for this song for 3 days. My journey has concluded.
Wicked bass line
The Canadian Phantogram. Both are awesome
Same thoughts exactly, Phantogram has been my favorite band for years and it’s great to find something so similarly brilliant 🎉
