I attended Primal Therapy at Janov's center (not one of the fake Primal therapies) in 2003. I was 30. It was my last stop before opting out of this experience. It saved my life. I've experienced a variety of therapies. It seems the goal of so many therapies is simply to make people "functional". I believe Primal therapy is the only therapy that can truly offer Healing to childhood traumas. Thank you for posting this!!! I wish more people were willing to connect with All parts of themselves - heal/connect with those parts that have been severed as the result of trauma.

Does anyone know Janov's real view on the use of LSD in therapy? I know his later interviews he said he thought it was dangerous and such. But in his original book "the primal scream" he said there were people that took LSD without his knowledge and primaled and healed. I also heard from someone who spent years at the center that there were a fair number of people that used LSD to go through their primals. He also talked in his first book about how people who smoked pot would find themselves crying their eyes out and going into primals. But he spoke about it as if they still experienced healing from it.

I really love the way you speak, so clearly, present and giving space for silence...

Thanks for this attention to this. Theres alot of debunking online over Janovs work.
    That says alot!
Indeed it needs alot of hours of discussion.
Im old school and still prefer 'call in' radio type discussions, over alone video making or just type writing comments.
Also, camera shy people often had abuse involving tecnology,...

Wow, so relieved to find and hear your view which is totally right on!
I have hours of trstimony on my xperience with this work.
The debunkers are currently All overyoutube videos.
    That speaks volumes.
Your right, p T. Is a process you learn how to access independantly for the rest of your life!
Once you learn to gain access, you dont necessarily need Anyone, but u might need a private area to emote, as often, a person 'feeling feelings', or 'dropping into' the 'old feeling', could sound like someones in real distress.
Thebeauty is, your 'detatched observer' spirit self, is overseeing your process , and can control your sessions, like in ase someone hears you and had no idea....you can stop and speak totally coherently.😊

Primal therapy works just as powerfully without any psychedelics. Infact, some might argue psychedelics have less of a success rate with long term integration. But at the end of the day, it's up to you to do the work yourself. I have experienced many things with all sorts of psychedelics, and also in groups that don't involve psychedelics.
The human story is a colorful journey

@@DostaBubba hmmm. Interesting. I have found it extremely to access my deepest pain, even after years of primal therapy, decades in fact. I'm sure it is extremely effective when a person can actually access the pain. I know psychedelics have that risk of not being able to integrate. Have your psychedelic experiences been healing? Are you able to "primal" on psychedelics?

I.m.o. the natural chemical body you have, is the real one. Using substances to help out can be good and true , but you might have to redo it all later without the drugs

This isn't exactly right. You start where you're at, not at pre-pubescent feelings. Then, where appropriate, you work back from there, wherever memory and symptoms lead.

Very helpful talk, thank you. Could you also please specify those techniques how to relive birth trauma, for example? I cannot find anywhere on the internet an explanation of how primal therapy actually works. How do you acces the unconscious and release those traumas? Is it by talking, is it through touch therapy, is it expressive therapies, or something like somatic experiencing? I deal with my own birth trauma and I find classical therapy not very effective. Thank you.

It took me 2 years of steady 'sessions' before my body opened up to birth level sessions. ❤
