Yeah, this gets ragged on sometimes (likely because it's pretty different than most FF runs) but I found it super refreshing and enjoyable. Glad to hear you liked it too! I got mine cheap on Amazon too, haha.
Yeah I also wonder if also because it was the follow up for Hickman…and how do you top Hickman’s run ha But yeah I ended up just loving it! Amazon for the win on this one 💪👏 Thanks for stopping by man
Great video! I appreciate getting to see the omnibus format in detail. As much I enjoy the deluxe treatment I think I'm going to track down the TPBs of FF (my personal preferred series of the two) primarily for the physical readability factor. The Marvel Now era is what brought me back to comics after a 20 year hiatus and I picked up the first issue of FF solely because of the fun welcoming cover. The series was so weird and fun and sweet and unpredictable. Pure joy! Was disappointed that Fraction dropped off toward the end to work on Inhumans (which he then left almost immediately) but Lee Allred did an admirable job closing it out.
I have not read that inhumans run but am curious! 📚 Thanks for watching! And how cool to come back after 20 years. I really love this Fantastic Four and FF run both 👏 I think it’s unfairly judged because this run immediately proceeded the Jonathan Hickman run. The FF title in particular has such a fun spiritedness to it 👏📚
It wouldn't matter who wrote the book after Hickman, they would be bound to get a bad rap because there's just no beating that story. I think if this wasn't released in the shadows of Hickman it would have done a lot better. It's a really enjoyable run and the varying art styles are great.
Thanks very much for this review. Really useful to know where it fits in a reading order. Like you, I picked this up "on spec" with our knowing much about it, at a decent price and haven't read it yet, but really looking forward to it now. Bagley's art looks great.
Yeah I had heard some mixed reviews on this collection but lately I have been really loving Fantastic Four and I too got a good deal on it. Between Bagley and Allred the art alone was worth the cost of admission for me but I found myself thoroughly enjoying the stories as well! I think anyone who directly followed Hickman would have had a hard time and I’m willing to bet that’s why this run is sometimes less than beloved. But, I was engaged and entertained the whole way through. Definitely will want to re-read in the future and happy to have this in the collection! Thankful my review helped you and I hope you enjoy :)
Fantastic review! I would say another run that is fantastic (n great starting point too) but rarely mentioned is the Fantastic Four by Mark Waid & Wieringo. Peace n love from Malaysia, cheers mate!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I had such a blast reading and reviewing this one. I think particularly because I had read so many negative reviews that I think just paint this run in an unfair light. While not my favorite run I was entertained greatly the whole way through and the art is jaw-dropping 👏 I’ve read the early Waid run in trade paperbacks and have thoroughly enjoyed what I’ve had the chance to read. Thanks for stopping by!
Honestly super underrated. Story is not as dense in scope as Hickman’s run which immediately preceded it, but a lot of fun with some incredible art throughout. Plus I found this Omnibus at a great deal on Amazon 👏
@@drocksteadyreviews yeah I read and watched a ton of reviews that hated on this book but I like Fraction and love the artists attached to this one so when I found a good price it was a no brainer for me and I was stoked on the pickup. Also very cool to have the run directly after Hickman’s also in Omnibus format
@@TevyaSmolka yeah, I heard a lot of mixed or negative reviews about this run but I love all the creators so I wanted to check it out for myself and I’m really happy I did. It’s not as dense as Hickman’s run by a long shot, but I was thoroughly entertained for the whole ride 👏😁

I could not agree more! I may have even mentioned something along these lines. I’m not sure this run got a fair shot but it was Great I thought 👏4️⃣

Good review. I’m only reading the Mike Allred stuff.
Both are very fun! But that FF run with the Allred art is wonderful 👏
Can’t wait to hear what you think 📚

Ooh awesome 😎
A run that I think is a little underrated with gorgeous art throughout 👏
Have you read any of Fraction’s Fantastic Four? :)
@@TheComicBookReport i can understand that and honestly i think the only thing I read from this run was the age of ultron tie-in and that's about it.
