I thought James Marsters was British too!! And Colin O’Donoghue from Once upon a time. Wasn’t until I saw interviews and realised otherwise.
James is so good at sounding British, his American accent sounds fake to me.

I agree. I never liked SNL. I didn't h ate it but the show overall was so so. But some of the stars the have are epic. Kate McKinnon is freaking hilarious. "Heads Will Roll" is a fantasy podcast and I promise you....I literally bet money you will basically die laughing. Pete Davidson had me with literal tears the first time I saw the SNL music video "Trees". How he made the hook of that song work is comedic genius

I met Mike Meyers when I was 9yrs old and was an extra on the movie So I Married an Ax Murderer. He was the nicest guy in the world. Took me 2 days to build up the nerve to ask him for his autograph. He said, "I would love to, do you have anything to write on?" Both of us were in kilts with no pockets and there wasn't anything handy so he told me he'd find something and get it to me before my last day. 2 days went by and still no autograph, it was my last day on set and we wrapped the last scene I would be in (wedding scene). My dad who was also an extra could see how crushed I was and said "lets just see if he's in his trailer." We went to his trailer and knocked. He opened the door kind of flustered, they were in the middle of re-writing some scenes and he didn't ask me why I was there or who I was he just held up a finger meaning "one sec" and came back with a Waynes World glossy of him and it was already signed, "To John party on Mike Meyers". He didn't even ask me what my name was again. Legend! I'm now in my 40's and still have the autograph. Still love the guy

All of the stuff I've ever heard about him is that he can be difficult to work with creatively, but a wonderful person to work for as a subordinate or meet as a fan.
Seems his dickish side only comes out when butting heads with his peers, but he's great with everyone else.

Have you seen how many channels he has? I'm convinced he just goes into sleep mode on the spot till it's time to record another video. He talks about his wife, and kids on some videos. But I'm totally unconvinced he leaves the studio for long enough to meet a woman, let alone procreate.

Julia Roberts was being checked into a plane, and she yelled at the security people and he always said it was the first time in his long life that he had ever actually heard someone say "Do you know who I am?"

I have a good friend who is a flight attendant. He met several celebrities over his career, & he said Julia Roberts was really the worst. She treated everyone terribly, & his fellow flight attendants even warned each other about her! (He said Sandra Bullock stood out as one of the nicest, btw)
I worked with someone who waited on Julia Roberts at an Applebees and, know someone else who has worked around her. Both said she was horrible.
Julia Robert's reputation is one of the most notorious "secrets" in the entertainment industry. Part of the reason her PR team pushed the "America's Sweetheart" persona so hard was because she was considered such a nightmare to work with by cast, crew, and anyone else unfortunate enough to get in her way. I've been told stories by friends in the industry of her weeping uncontrollably as a manipulation tactic, having screaming tantrums while filming is supposed to be happening, verbally abusing anyone she doesn't like, purposely humiliating people in public, flirting with married men in front of their wives on numerous occasions, and canoodling with directors while trying to cut other actresses' screentime behind their backs.

She came to military bases overseas to promote Ocean’s Eleven and she didn’t want to go anywhere. They made her do it and she was a total nasty little baby the whole time and it was time to actually signed photograph. She would touch it with her finger nail long enough to use her other hand to write her name and just push it down the table. Now the guys were really nice. I actually stood talking to Andy Garcia for a while, and he had a daughter that had the same name as mine.
I bet working with Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves on the set of speed was easy going 😂
Whilst Mike Myers is Canadian, his parents were English with Scottish heritage. I guess that's why his British accents are so good.

I live in the LA area. We always hear rumors about the actors and it’s amazing how most of them turn out to be true. Harvey Weinstein, Ellen, Kevin Spacey, Bill MUrray and Chevy Chase turned out to be accurate rumors. Keanu Reeves is very nice and has a great reputation.

Rather than discounting the way celebrities act with their own families and their personal lives, I think it actually reveals their true character. It's one thing if you treat random strangers like crap but if you talk to your own family like that, or if you keep your own sister from seeing her dying mother, I think that's actually something worth looking at.

I used to know a lot about pop culture, but nowadays, every single time "a famous youtuber" or "influencer" is mentioned, I'm like "who?!?". And it almost always turns out that they're some rich kid in their twenties whose content amounts to little more than doing rather mundane rich people stuff.

Mike Myers and I went to the same high school, Stephen Leacock, around the same time. We'd both taken the TV course, which was only offered by two schools in Ontario. From what I remember, he transferred from Woburn, or maybe MacDonald, because of the TV course, after all, we had TV studios in our school!! You're hanging lights, and editing tape, and monitoring sound, and appearing in front of the camera, all while trying to figure out what you're gonna say next. He knew what direction he was pointed in, from very young. I found that he didn't interact that much with people, but, after all, he didn't know anyone, he was new to our school. Part two, coming soon...
OMG the number of references/puns that just fly right over Simons head in this one makes me think he is a tower in a Top Gun movie.
dan aykroyd lives near my home town, and while i never met him, he used to get flowers from the florist i worked at in college, he could be rude, but his mom is also a regular so if he was ever rude in the store, my collegue ( a few years younger than dan) would basically call and tell on him for being impolite to the owner (who is just the nicest bubbly lady)

The amount of things Simon is culturally unaware of is truly staggering.
mostly any movie background, coming up here. never watched Pretty Woman, didn't realize there was more than one Baldwin, missed that Mike Myers was playing Dr. Evil (which kind of stood out). it was a little odd that he saw continuing to mess with a phone on a plane after the announcement as unreasonable, but it seemed fine to ride a bike the wrong way on a one way street, or to run red lights on one. that may be a cultural thing; in some countries all that is fine, just odd that may be more acceptable in England.
Given what a pile of shit modern "culture" is, being culturally unaware is probably a plus.

Yes all 4 Baldwin brothers were pretty big in their day. Alec was the only one who stayed A-list, but back in the 80s & 90s the Baldwin Bros were a force to reckon with. There was even a reference to how good looking all of the Baldwin brothers were in the movie “Clueless” when she calls any good looking boy in her school a “Baldwin.”
I watched a documentary and it was tragic what the Arquetts did.
There are plenty of British actors who fool me with their American accents, most notably to me Hugh Laurie as "House." I didn't know Christian Bale was British until recently.
A couple years ago I was travelling in eastern Europe and ran into Simon at a pub. He threw his drink in my face and was screaming "I'm Simon f*****g Whistler!!!" dude is INTENSE.

The Caravan joke is a reference to Mike and Dana's long time (deceased) co-star, Chris Farley. One of Mr. Farley's most famous lines is that you will end up living in a van down by the river subsisting off government cheese.

Hook was a wonderful movie. I was a super sheltered child with 2 channels on tv when everyone had cable. It was a treasure.
And despite being that sheltered and never seeing any Mike Meyers movies, even I know that stuff lol. It was like seeing a kid figure out the magic that is acting lol.

A friend of mine met jack black somewhere he was having a bad day and was an ass. He went back to the coffee shop and asked if the guy he was mean to was a regular. He was. From what I understand he came back often trying to catch him and apologize.

Today it's terrible. Past 7 or 8 years have been terrible. In the early 2010s and before it was pretty great. It's just been on the air too long at this point lol.
I got into a Studio C binge a while back. I finished all of the funny stuff, though, and have moved on. Still got several hours of solid humor from them.

Nancy Roberts literally named and blamed Julia in her suicide letter as the sole cause for her wanting to take her own life: Nancy had sold some story to the press and Julia made it sure she was ostracised from the family, eventually cowtowing but demanding that Nancy was only allowed to see their dying monther once for a few minutes on her death bed. Truly awful person.
She didn't want her sister to sell pictures of their dying mother to the press. Exploiting a dying parent is despicable. I don't fault Julia for her actions in that situation.

I feel like Simon needs to do a 5-minute Mini Blaze, listing all the movies he has actually seen...followed by a 3-hour Epic Blaze listing all the ones he hasn't and lamenting his total failure to grasp any movie references. 😆
I actually kinda am envious of Simon's complete obliviousness as to who is playing what character and such. Probably a much more fun experience to not be so focused on who is behind the role and just enjoying the characters for the characters.
John Lennon was one of my hero’s because of everything thing he stood for. I was crushed when he was murdered. About a month ago I learned about what he was like in real life, and I was crushed again. I was in an abusive relationship long ago & and I felt lost when I heard he did that. In addition, how he treated Julian was unforgivable. Just because he wasn’t planned, John didn’t include him in his will! Unbelievable 😢.
Lennon was definitely not a nice person so its hard to fathom how he was able to overcome that and express the better part of himself through his music
