As someone who doesn't own a gun, but believes in the Second Amendment, I find it disturbing that those who wish to expand the control of government over its citizens are the ones who want to disarm those citizens.
On behalf of six generations of veterans in my family who DID answer the call to war zones from the 1770s on, Walz should back out of every room he enters from this point on.
16:26 I'm so glad this guy mentioned that some veterans will use their experience in the military as a way of saying that civilians shouldn't own certain weapons, like the AR15. As an army veteran who actually DID deploy to Iraq twice, those kinds of veterans that push for anti-gun legislation are the absolute worst kind of veterans.
I truly believe it does not take much intelligence to be a Journalist today. Back in the day, those great men and women took their job seriously, were unbiased, researched and used their intelligence. Journalists today spew lies and biased gibberish. They seem to think that their submissions are essays on a 6th grade book report level - embellish and lie just to get their total of 250 words requirement...
I'm a Vietnam ERA Vet. I make a point that I didn't serve IN Vietnam. You do NOT tell people you carried weapons "in war" when you didn't. You do NOT tell people you held rank that you didn't. You do NOT tell people you earned awards that you didn't. To do other wise is to dishonor your own sevice and cheapen the service of those who did. It sounds to me that in the National Guard this man would have been called a "paper soldier". It is sad that he could serve that long and still BE a Paper Soldier.
Thank you for just being there anyway! I also was in back then BUT National Guard. Now when state said I could put "veteran" on my license I did but tell everyone never left country, don't really call that a vet. However knew some other units did go to Nam. Guess it was because my MOS 67November20 UH1 helo repair! Just lucky I guess! I did like working on them. Thanks again!
John Kerry did make a point that he served in Vietnam and got purple hearts. His mates said he caused his own injuries and demanded the medals. Then he claimed to have thrown all his medals over the fence at the White House, but in photos of his office, they are hung on the wall.
My mom was a Navy 'ditty-bop' (morse code) during Vietnam. Never, ever was there any fear of being anywhere near a combat zone. She is still 100% a "Vietnam Veteran" as is everyone who was in the service during that campaign. Every single thing that everyone did in the military during that time frame was directly tied to the actions of those doing what they did IN Vietnam. Personally, as someone with broad-spectrum military career (AD, Guard, and Reserves), I'm proud of my contributions with no need to embellish and for sure no need to outright lie about anything. I was support. Through OIF, OEF, & GWOT... I was never called to go, so I did my jobs from stateside as instructed, always assuming I would get the call that never came. Still an OIF Veteran. Still an OEF Veteran. Still a GWOT Veteran.

What in the world is wrong with a concealed carry permit being reciprocated between States. Just having that permit proves that you are a legal and law abiding gun owner. The permit should be a nationwide permit anyway.
That was one of the worst sound bites he uttered. If a Constitutional right isn't reciprocal between states, then driver's licenses, vehicle registration, birth certificates, high school diplomas, and so on would be even less valid as they are merely administrative documents within the state and have no Constitutional framework applied.
@@tcortez that’s exactly how drivers licenses and many other things do actually work. The states create interstate compact/agreements that allow one states’ drivers license to work in another state . The constitution was created by 13 separate sovereign nations who decided to cooperate, and part of that agreement was that the states would retain some degree of sovereignty. Here we are 250 years later and you are simultaneously griping that we have too much involvement from the federal government and not enough sovereignty for the states, but this struggle was baked into the constitution from the beginning. That’s why a person can be tried in state court and in federal court, because these are not considered the same and therefore not double Jeopardy. In fact most of our rights didn’t apply the same way before the 14th amendment blurred the distinction quite a bit. Today’s federal government has Tremendously greater amount of power than the one envisioned by the founders, but we also have a pretty awesome Nation with 50 individual experiments in democracy/republicanism and where the most powerful nation on the planet.

British colonization led to the first settlement of the Thirteen Colonies in Virginia in 1607. Clashes with the British Crown over taxation and political representation sparked the American Revolution, with the Second Continental Congress formally declaring independence on July 4, 1776. Following its victory in the 1775-1783 Revolutionary War, the country continued to expand across North America. As more states were admitted, sectional division over slavery led to the secession of the Confederate States of America, which fought the remaining states of the Union during the 1861-1865 American Civil War. With the Union's victory and preservation, slavery was abolished nationally. By 1890, the United States had established itself as a great power. After Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, the U.S. entered World War II. The aftermath of the war left the U.S. and the Soviet Union as the world's two superpowers and led to the Cold War, during which both countries engaged in a struggle for ideological dominance and international influence. Following the Soviet Union's collapse and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the U.S. emerged as the world's sole superpower, wielding significant geopolitical influence globally.
The U.S. national government is a presidential constitutional republic and liberal democracy with three separate branches: legislative, executive, and judicial. It has a bicameral national legislature composed of the House of Representatives, a lower house based on population; and the Senate, an upper house based on equal representation for each state. Substantial autonomy is given to the states and several territories, with a political culture promoting liberty, equality, individualism, personal autonomy, and limited government.
One of the world's most developed countries, the United States has had the largest nominal GDP since about 1890 and accounted for 15% of the global economy in 2023.[m] It possesses by far the largest amount of wealth of any country and has the highest disposable household income per capita among OECD countries. The U.S. ranks among the world's highest in human rights, economic competitiveness, productivity, innovation, and higher education. Its hard power and cultural influence have a global reach. The U.S. is a founding member of the World Bank, Organization of American States, NATO, and United Nations,[n] as well as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

We're trying to decide on "the government" and one candidate is showing their ambition for power through a crime and shameful brag that wasn't true. Beyond that the candidate is not even close to worthy of the job in leadership of the country.
