I love Andy Mineo, some of his albums are the best rap albums I ever heard. But my biggest criticism of him is that his music always sounds like whatever is popping at the time, but maybe that's his artistry. I feel like he listens to what is the currently trending and then decides to give his own take on it. This feels like a "Not Like Us" concept, but done way better of course since it's not an attack, it's more of a sort of brotherly encouragement. With that criticism aside, still one of the greatest rappers ever IMO.
As a TikTok creative, I can relate to both being burnt out creatively and never wanting to stop creating. Is my platform for just season? What does Jesus want me to do? Lord, You have to be my Source or I’m just wasting my time. Feel like Andre probably had an identity crisis, and as a creator who enjoyed pushing limits, probably got scared of only being know for one thing. And while it’s good for him to pursue other outlets to stretch himself, what he really needs is the “rest for his soul” that only Jesus gives and have his identity locked up and set free in being a child of the Father.
