    It doesn't have individual chokes for Earth power bars? And why not? Do you use ferrite bead on the mains cable to the adaptor?

    Hi Owen, I hope you can answer my question.
    I have a Powerstation on lend and heard improvements in Staging and more control of instruments. I also have my poweramp with KT120 tubes in there... but almost all say a power amp (and pre amp too?) are better off in a unfiltered socket. So why didnt you make 1 or 2 unfiltered sockets like most do?
    I am curious... thanks in advance!

    • @iFiaudiochannel
      @iFiaudiochannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, that may be the case with passive filtered sockets but the PowerStation is active, I hope that is a satisfactory answer.

    Hi ifi, hope you could answer my query. My house only have a 2 prong outlet, would the power station work properly with that or does it really need to be a 3 prong outlet? Thank you

    The way the US version places the outlets limits the use of wall warts, including those of iFi products. Why not placing them in the same way the British outlets are placed?

    • @iFiaudiochannel
      @iFiaudiochannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - We noted this during production, it's just the way the US outlets are designed unforunately.

      No - since its a defect with GPU manufacturing process, has nothing to do with power

    • @srmitch9260

      @@iFiaudiochannel Is it true that regular, cheap designs that use daisy chained sockets can starve one another for optimal power? For example, you have a 6 way power strip, in the first socket you plug in a high current device like a power amplifier, in the second socket you plug in a large active subwoofer, will the rest of the sockets be starved of power?
      I only ask, as many companies that produced HiFi power blocks etc claim that “star-wiring” eliminates / solves this problem associated with regular power strip design, essentially creating a “home run” for each individual socket? Is this accurate? Or is regular power strips just as good as one which employs star wiring?
      Would be very grateful to have this answered!
      Thanks.

      @@srmitch9260 thanks for getting back to us :) if you use the first socket, the last socket will be still be the same, they won't be starved of power if you use a high current device :) Take a look at this link, at the bottom of the page are some documents that will be useful for you :) ifi-audio.com/products/powerstation/

      @@iFiaudiochannel Thank you for replying quickly! The info was very helpful and I’m looking at getting one. I do however have one more question, I was thinking about putting one of your DC blockers in between the power stations IEC which receives power from the mains of course, instead of putting a DC blocker in the IEC of my amplifier. Would this be effective also at removing DC? Will it spread the effect that the DC blocker has across all components plugged into the powerstation? I assume it will as it will block and DC on the mains coming into the powerstation in the first place, therefore all components connected will be free of DC? Am I correct or do you have to apply directly to the components IEC?
      Many thanks. Look forward to hearing back.

    • @iFiaudiochannel
      @iFiaudiochannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@srmitch9260 I'm glad we can help :) To answer your question, Yes it will work and it would take out the DC if you plugged it into the IEC of the Powerstation. Our DC blocker has a continuous current rating of 4A, so you need to make sure what you plug into the Powerstation, doesn't have a total load of over 4A. If this would be the case, we would recommend plugging the DC blocker into your AMP or into the powered speakers' IEC directly to avoid going over the 4A :)
