This machine was rebuilt in Florida & sold by Barry Green to O&G…….I installed all the drum assembly’s and set all the bull gear backlash’s….early 2000’s

In the early 70s my husband ran two different LIMA 2400s unloading barges in a rock quarry, they were “Three (3) Drum” clamshells 8 yards, loading the rock crusher… Now on a THREE Drum machine, WHERE are you going to put the Third Drums BRAKE..??? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️ The closing line brake was your Left foot, the hoist line brake was your Right foot, you ONLY have Two Feet…!! Well for This Purpose the LIMA Factory made the Swing lever in your left hand a Three Way air valve, for n aft was Swing of course, but Left or Right was casting or retrieving the Tagline…!! That was your 3rd Drum Brake, talk about Tricky.!! One Lima was on a pedestal with a big Electric Motor and it was Full Speed ALL the time, he was doing 30 second cycles from dumping into the crusher, swing back to the barge, get another 7-8 tons of limerock, hoist n swing back over to the crusher, Dump the load….. 30 second’s..!! 😎👍👌👏🥳

Your husband apparently worked for Lehigh in Miami….. they were the only one that had a pedestal mounted electrical 2400 clamshell. I work with a few guys from that company after they shut down. I “grew” up with the Lima dealer

@@jamescruce1738 A true statement, Lehigh Portland indeed…!! Right up until they shut down, he walked upfront all 3 draglines from the back and took the tugboats out with one .

Hey cool video but boy I would love to see it from the outside! You know you seem to be very interested in cranes draglines and shovels you should keep your eyes open for one that’s in decent shape I saw a link belt 108 I think with a dragline bucket I forgot how many yard but it was running and working and the guy was only asking $5000🇨🇦 I was very tempted but I had two of my own cranes at the time. But then you could practice and dig dugouts or get it on at a gravel pit or whatever you could find. My 2 uncles were drag and clam and cable backhoe operators and My Dad was also a drag clam and cable backhoe operator but he ended up having his own cranes rental business and I also went that direction! Think about it. It might be a fun journey 😀🇨🇦🏗🪝👉👈👆👇👍👎🤌🪝🏗
