Every time I'm thinking about new techniques to use you've got some nearly decade old tutorials that tell me anything I need to know and more. Love this channel.

So flexibility is NOT the biggest deal ! Noted sir !

This is super helpful if daunting. I'm going back to judo in my late forties and some of these moves are coming up in the warm up. I just don't have the range of movement. The kick overs against the wall look like a good place to start, right after I bump up my health insurance :)

Just watched the Chandler/Henderson fight with that savage belly to back in the 1st. Thought I'd see what the coach has to say about them.
Next job is to turn 200lb of sand into an effigy of a heavyweight then book up 6 months of rehab.

Stretch every single day. Move every single day. Stay active. Keep moving your body through it's full range of motion throughout the day, not just during training. Back arches, lots of back arches. The seal/cobra pose from yoga is great. Yoga in general is a great way to reclaim spinal mobility.

Uhh guys, i think I've done something wrong. I've been training my bridge for probably 4 months and decided i want to try the move on the bed, after a few days, i started getting better at it (This is just an opinion). And a few days ago during my daily suplex training i landed kinda weird and i think i heard a few *Crrrk* sounds too. I immediately stood up to check if I'm paralyzed, well turns out I'm okay but my neck hurts every time i move it ( mainly the mid part and the bottom part) it has been a few days and its getting better a bit, still hurts though. ( i was doing the pro wrestling variation where you bridge and land on your head, (think of karl gotch)) so, how do i make my neck stronger to be able to do it without pain?

I don't know if you read comments on old videos 😂 but I'll ask anyway.
Basically, I've never had formal grappling training, but inspired by your channel I've done some jiu-jitsu with my homies (you said in a video if u don't have a gym near u start a group so I did). I had a high school wrestler and a 2yrs xp jiu-jitsu player in that (I'm kukkiwon 2nd degree). We do mma and grappling training. While doing this, I seem to have discovered a way to submit these guys repeatedly. I've learned how to do a suplex from a collar tie and guillatine position. I'd feint a double/single leg then put the collar tie into the other arm guillatine then suplex them onto the ground when I submit them. This has worked consistently, but I'm not sure if they are just inexperienced or I found something interesting. I hope it's not a bother, but I was wondering if you could give me your two cents. Much appreciated.

    • @Apuryo
      @Apuryo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I also do this often when having takedown defense. They'd come in with a single or double and if I can't sprawl in time I'd use the momentum to get the suplex/mat return (depending on the angle) with the guillatine

If you can't find heavy enough kettlebells make your own guys. Take a log and cut a big chunk off add a handle and you are off to the races. I recommend maple because it is tough and heavy.

Dale Gilbert, I can't speak for Ramsey, but as a beginner weight lifter myself I started with a mobile app called 5x5 StrongLifts, and now am reading a great book called Starting Strength. You will need access to a squat rack, bench, barbell, and plates (most likely through a gym membership, but I can not do that due to family obligations so I built a small home gym for about a thousand dollars). Also, if you can, find a good coach.

With all respect, you go a bit too high, and then fall with not so much power. You should try to smash your opponent into the ground by bridging more actively and getting less high. Great content btw.

What is your advice on zercher squats and zercher deadlifts?
I was thinking they might be more functional since you hold the weight close to your body like in many throws (supplex, reverse gut, etc).
Do you have any advice on how to zercher deadlift? I was always told to never round your back like with conventional deadlifts but then I see videos of people doing Jefferson curls safely.
I saw this video and his advice seemed solid but was wondering your opinion on the technique.

Would love to hear your take. Thanks.

Where can I get your grappling dummy? I suplexed my gym's 140lb dummy and ripped it completely in half across the chest after the fourth suplex. I think if it had joints like yours it wouldn't break

Yep. The girl doing the flying armbar in this video was your exact weight when I taught her the suplex: th-cam.com/video/x8KD3yQWhWo/w-d-xo.html
She’s one of the few students who ever threw me with one while sparring live.
Make sure to do your strength training religiously. Use a crash mat and a grappling dummy when you start out. And it helps a lot to have a coach there to spot you just in case. But once it clicks, it becomes really easy.
