    Nice work, refreshing to hear someone finally mention not running power lines next to communication lines. Are you pretty pleased with the overall laser?

      So far. I haven't used it much lately due to other projects but it has performed as expected

      @Rashiek El just starting out it would be ok but for everyday continuous use I would purchase a more industrial one. Honestly I haven't used this one enough to know how it will hold up though.

      Most CO² glass laser tubes require the coolant water temperature to remain between 16°C and 20°C (60°F and 68°F) for best performance and longest laser tube life. Warmer water temperatures quickly affect both.
      No matter what power laser tube you are using, unless the ambient room temperature is between or below this temperature range the CW-3000 "chiller" will not be able to provide coolant water for the laser tube to maintain its performance and lifespan. Additionally, as the chiller runs and removes heat build-up from the laser tube firing both your room ambient temperature and coolant water temperature will start rising.

    When you took out that grate with the holes in it, what did you screw the round flange back to?

    I have so many issue with my OMtech 60w please help me. What really frustrates me is the inconsistent performance. Some cuts are smooth, but many times, the laser doesn’t penetrate properly, leading to uneven engravings and wasting materials. I’ve tried reaching out for customer support, but responses have been slow and unhelpful.

      @TylerGecko Hello
      Here are a few important points. Make sure you optics are clean and the laser is aligned properly. Even a brand new laser may need some alignment adjustments. This is very important. There are lots of videos to show you how this is done if you are not sure. Make sure you have good exhaust removal. I replaced the OMTech one with a better one. This also helps with keeping your optics cleaner longer. Use a better compressed air source that has pressure regulation. Remember you are getting a cheaper laser but upgrades will need to be made because of the compromises for price. I have had mine a while and it still does well. I use it for wood and acrylic primarily. Don't give up on it yet. Good luck!

    What did you do for grounding?

      Hello Roy
      I have not done anything with grounding at this point. Believe it or not after making this video I have not had a chance to use it again. I have been working on 3D printed projects.

      Grounding for the US and very many European countries is accomplished through a dedicated ground pin in the plugs and conductor in the power cord. Inside the laser both the electronics and chassis are connected to this integrated ground. A separate ground lug has been provided for use in countries where the ground is not provided as part of the electrical system.

      @@greggdrennan I live in the US, but I went ahead and ran a ground wire from that little lug in the back to the ground on one of my nearby outlets. Almost certainly unnecessary but better safe than sorry.
