I read that saddle soap could remove oil stains from leather or that corn starch or talcum powder might be able to absorb the oil. I also read that 1:1 vinegar can remove oil from leather. Good luck! I hope you find something that works! If not, darkening it sounds like a good fix and an interesting DIY for a video. The room looks great! I really like the flooring in this space.
The only way I think is to cut the stains out and have the leather repaired, there are lots of videos on how to do this yourself, color matching, etc..
I have a large real leather sofa and matching chair we’ve had for decades. It’s a deep wine color. I like it, but felt so out of date with all the modern decor being white or very light colors. I’ve been trying to use lots of light pillows, throws, and accent decor to lighten the space for a couple of years. Now it seems trends are going to “dark and moody!” 😂 Let us know if you can darken your sofa. I’m interested how that would work.
You can change the color on your leather sofa- I did mine but just used the same color. It worked great- evened out the faded areas and looks like a new sofa.
our sofa is chocolate brown and had sun fade and also worn spots on the cushions where the dog lays and licks her paws. It has been 6 months and is holding up well but i have put a sofa cover on it for the dog. I was very happy with it. I only used about 1/2 of the small container.
Love the fall vibes but the sweater and fire are making me sweat 😥 it’s so hot 🥵 here in the Midwest these past few days it’s hard to breathe outside .
Beautiful. Thanks for explaining things and not just decorating.
You are so welcome!
I love the coffee table, leather horses, and pottery. Removing the sliding door really has made a difference!
Yes! Thank you!
"I'm never finished"
Me too! Keep that pretty stuff moving! 😂❤🎉
Always!
I loved the way you decorated your family room for Autumn!
Thank you!! 😊
You have made such a beautiful space in a basement! I'm so glad you get to use your decor this year. And Christmas is coming!🌲
Thank you so much!
Looks really nice the windows made a world of difference.
Thank you so much!

Thank you so much! I’ll look into saddle soap!
So pretty! All the decor is timeless. Love the new windows.
Thanks so much! 😊
Love these colors. The most intense orange tone, though, is the mantle. You might try toning that down with a wash or dry brushing.
It is a very intense orange 🤣 I’m considering a gel stain to darken it to a more walnut tone
@@GraceInMySpacethat would be gorgeous! Gel stain is one of my most fave things now. 😊
The room is looking warm and cute. Can't go with throw on coffee table, though!
Thank you so much!
Love the decorating, the pumpkin candles are sooo cute🎃🥰
Thank you so much!
Lots of great ideas here. Looks so warm and cozy now. I have the same style of house so really love watching you renovate and decorate.
Thanks so much! 😊 have fun with it!
Very nice decor. Everything looks very nice and very cohesive.
Thanks so much! 😊
Love it.

Looks beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
It looks so good!! Those brass bookends caught my eye. Are they vintage? I’m always on the hunt for vintage bookends. If not, I’d love a link! 😊
Thank you so much! Yes, they are vintage ☺️

Haha all things come back around in fashion and interior design!
Beautiful decor and good tips! Maybe try conditioning the leather? Might even out the stains. Not sure though!
I did try that as well. It’s great for the leather overall but didn’t mask the stains unfortunately.
Lovely ❤
Nice

What did you use?

Try rubbing white chalk on the stains and let it sit overnight and vacuum.
I’ll give it a try!
I would oil the whole sofa, especially since you said you would like it darker.
What type of oil do you recommend?

Fall is around the corner!
Slip covers?
Perhaps you can hire an upholsterer make fabric covers for your leather sofa cushions...when the budget for it is available.
Great idea!
Welp, since the oil stains won’t come out attempting to darken the sofa might not hurt. 😬
That was my thought too
How old are your kids?
Teens 😊
@@GraceInMySpace Say no more! Lol
Couldn’t you just put oil on your sofa? It would darken it and oil wouldn’t hurt it.
What type of oil would you recommend?
@@GraceInMySpace I’ve never done it so some sort of saddle preparation? I’d ask a professional. Sorry. 😞
