  • Join me on a captivating landscape photography journey through the Flinders Ranges as I explore the stunning aftermath of a 36-hour downpour. The rain has just subsided, leaving behind a desolate yet mesmerising landscape. In this video, I capture the raw beauty of the outback, focusing on the serene transformation that occurs when sunlight breaks through a distant gap in the clouds. The scene is bathed in soft red light, highlighting the red earth, the rugged ranges, and an old windmill, creating a moment of pure photographic magic.
    Anticipating a dramatic black-and-white edit, I showcase how the interplay of light and shadow breathes new life into the landscape. Watch as the once dreary scene is transformed into a breathtaking display of nature's resilience and beauty. This video is a testament to the unpredictable charm of the outback, offering viewers a unique glimpse into the serene aftermath of the storm. Whether you're a photography enthusiast or simply a lover of nature, this episode is sure to inspire and captivate.
    I specialise in large format print focusing on creating fine art images best viewed on a wall.

    I love that your videos get straight to the subject. No making breakfast in your van, no long, time wasting walks just straight into the photography. Another great video
    Keep them coming.

      Cheers Gordon, I never plan my shoots (well I plan the location) but never the content or what I am going to say, that's why it's straight into the photography. That's the important bit after all 😂. Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏

    WOW! Epic is an understatement for this series! I think it would have been beautiful even without the windmill, but that just made it even more so. Love the combo of the windmill and tree. Very creative!

      Thank you Juanita, your support is so very much appreciated. I'm so glad you enjoyed the tree and windmill combo, I didn't know if it would work when I was out there. Have a lovely week 🙏🙏🙏

    How wonderful that the weather gods rewarded your persistence, Izzy. The "turn around and check behind you" is one guideline I always try to observe. The colours when you turned around for the second time were breathtaking - even I would have run to collect them with my camera. and as always, talking-through the compositions. It's also rather decadent to have an impromptu porter as well!

      @IzzyAbuleelaPhotography  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cheers M, sometimes we are glued to the scene in front of use, under the impression that the entire world is focussed into the confines of our viewfinders. I also couldn't believe the transformation of the tree it looked so very different from that side. As for the porter I was very lucky that day as I mostly travel solo, and it was lovely to have company. Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏

    Lucky ducks visiting the Flinders!...on my bucket list for "one day". Cloudy days can yield some wonderful moody images. The windmill with the backdrop of the mountain range is so beautiful. The curvature of the clouds in image at 8:35 seems to frame the windmill and mirror the mountain range in the background. A perfect example of Alister Benn's "Geometry' in composition. I learned a long time ago when shooting to ALWAYS turn around - you will get rewarded - and just think...most don't do it! One of the best tools in composition are your 2 feet!!! You saved the best till last. Have a great week.

      We are certainly blessed Helen, not only to have sensational places like this in Australia but also to be healthy enough to visit and enjoy them. Turning around has paid off so many times, it helps that I talk to the camera as I can also see what the sky is doing in different directions, without that I think I too would forget on occasion 😂. I hope you have a great week too 🙏🙏🙏

    Epic images of the Flinders Ranges Izzy.......WOW! When I lived in Adelaide, my parents had no inclination to visit the Ranges........mum said it was too hot and dry. Boy, did they both miss the beauty.......Leonie and I have been twice from NSW and can't wait to go back again. You have captured the beauty magnificently.

      Thank you David, and here was I was feeling quite ashamed that it took me 3 years to visit. It is a spot that should be on everyones bucket list, the video and images can't convey the enormous majesty and unique other-worldly feeling of connection to the land when you stand amidst the ranges. Especially at sunrise or sunset. A place that I will definitely have to return to, and soon. Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏

    I remember having a situation where I had to run back to a spot that I had shot a tree!!! Everyone was saying there would be no sunset! 20 min. later the sky and the tree just exploded with color!!!! I ran all the way back to that tree and got the photo!!! It only lasted for 5 minutes, then it was gone!!! I learned to never give up on rainy days!!!! It's not over until it's over!!!! Great video!!!

    You just have to love the Australian outback, again the Flinders Range didn't disappoint. Nice to see the difference between the Horizontal and Vertical Pano's Izzy, the sky in the 7 image pano really looked amazing. I did like the way you framed the Windmill in the arch of the old tree. Your image at 19:55 showed beautiful light on those distant hills Thanks again Izzy for the very entertaining video filled with magical images. Have a great week

      @IzzyAbuleelaPhotography  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you as always Ross, so very much appreciated. You are spot on, the vertical panos allow you to capture so much more of the scene, although you have top be more careful taking then as they are harder to stitch if you go wrong (not keeping the shots level I mean). Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏

    I don’t think I’ll bother to watch the first 10 minutes of your future vlogs, since you always save the most sumptuous and gorgeous for the last 10 mins. When you were prattling on about Water bores I wasn’t too hopeful, but oh ye of little faith etc. You must have been pleased with that little gem, well done Iz

    Lovely work Izzy. Just returned from two weeks in the Flinders Ranges yesterday. I have been there 7 or 8 times and it never disappoints - as you say desolate but raw beauty everywhere. Reckon I was there the day you got this magic light. My wife and I were travelling up from Mount Little Station on the Western side of the Elders Range to Moolooloo Station further north. As I often do, I spent a lot of time photographing trees particularly the majestic river gums in the dry creek beds. But the bigger landscape commands your attention when the light goes off like this.

    • @IzzyAbuleelaPhotography
      @IzzyAbuleelaPhotography  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much Dane, it is an extremely emotive landscape. Beautiful, enigmatic and stern all at the same time. I tried photographing some of the dry river gums, but I'm not too sure if they turned out too well. Takes a certain skill to capture the beauty they hold, a skill that I am still working on. Have a great week 🙏🙏🙏
