- In this episode of ‘Editorial’, Mr. Sujit Nair discusses the rifts which are going on in the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and also discusses the speech made by the Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi before the commencement of the Monsoon Session of the parliament. Mr. Nair mentions the order given by the UP government to display the names of proprietors of restaurants on Kanwar Yatra routes and the stay imposed by the Supreme Court of India, the order that lifts ban on govt. employees participating in RSS activities and PM Modi’s speech outside the parliament of India where he said that the opposition is trying to “stifle the voice of the PM”, hinting that all is not well within the BJP.

So much for the 56 inch alpha leader, that when the going gets tough - he chokes in self-pity and plays a victim card. Let us not be carried away by these theatrics. Don't we remember the crass manner in which he ran the election campaign and also the way he ridiculed the opposition in the parliament. It is great to see that he has now come round - rudely woken up to the fact that there is no more Modi ki guarantee - it is the NDA government, which he is talking about bahumat, not Modi ki sarkar - Why can't you now say what you said in the previous loksabha that you alone would be enough for the entire opposition! And the senior BJP leaders were thumping the benches without even feeling a sense of embarrassment/ insult from their own supreme leader!

Good editorial. Leaders like Suvendhu Adhikari, an accused in the Sharda Chit scam, Praful Patel and Ajit Pawar, both of whom were accused as most corrupt by the BJP and several others who are now part of of the BJP bandwagon with no fear of any prosecution by any agencies. What should really worry is the utter disregard for the Indian constitution by people like Adhikari,. In fact he should be prosecuted for what he has stated. RSS is looked at with awe by a lot of people. The ideology of RSS which was formed to defend and protect brahminism in the wake of the arrival of thinkers and activists like Mahatma Phule, Ambedkar, Shri Narayana Guru and a host of others in the Indian firmament. RSS can only take the country backward and a country striving to become an egalitarian society cannot afford to have such an organization calling the shots.

While I agree with your analysis, that Modi's grip maybe loosening a bit, but I think what Subendu Adhikari said, has full support of the PM. Without it he wouldn't have dared say so. There are numerous such examples, like changing the constitution, openly advocated by party leaders has never been opposed by the PM.

What about the policy of no government official participating in RSS activities. He changed it right according to his whim.
