Just like this question has come to your mind, sometimes it comes to my mind also that as in Mahaprabhu's time, cymbals/Karatal were played in kirtan along with the 'BOL'/Mantra of mridanga, is it played in the same way even today? There is a lecture by Aindra Prabhu which is available on TH-cam, in which he was talking about Vedic kirtan. I did not understand it, something like 16 pairs of cymbals/Karatal, 4 mridangas and many other things, but I felt we should also learn about it (the actual way to perform Naam Sankirtan) like we learn about it in Bhagavad gita.(In disciplic succession) As it is Srila Narottam das Thakur, srinivas acharya, Shyamananda prabhu have given us the path of doing kirtan, we have to reach there and follow it as it is. I am a Bramhacari I like kirtan very much so I increased my interest in it, I came to Mayapur to learn Mridanga, there is a famous Mridanga teacher, I liked his style of playing Mridanga very much so I contacted him to learn from him but he charged a lot of fees, I told him that I am a Bramhacari, please reduce the amount for me and he refused. I felt very sad that what is provided by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu should be made available to everyone, so I am currently learning from another teacher and have thought that after learning I will make this knowledge/learning available to everyone. And before leaving I would like to say one thing, like you and me there must be many other devotees who must be searching for the real Kirtan, in which kirtan Guru Krishna is happy with. Today we have become like this to increase our name, fame and worship, but if we can do some research along with sincere devotees and bring out that knowledge which was given to us by our predecessor Acaryas, then it will help the future generations a lot. We have to serve Prabhupada as one, the knowledge that we are following, let's take Bhagavad Gita, we are reading one Bhagavad Gita. Similarly if we follow the same knowledge of kirtan then we will again be united and serve srila prabhupada with more energy and love.
@@RadhagokulanandaDas Hare Krishna , Dandawat So basically if we compare from Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and this time there is a lot of difference in the environment and situation just like nowadays people have different mind to catch up Harinaam Sankirtan or devotional path in Mahaprabhu time if u look at Sri Chaitanya charitamrita or any pastime book that time people were so innocent and helpful and they were living very simple life but nowadays everyone wants to be luxury life with name and fame so now people they have different taste that’s why people r going dj or rock concerts so that’s why people liking the Harinaam Sankirtan in that way with dj and rock style ofcourse we have to think about people what they have taste but we should not cultivate our devotion to they’re liking taste so nowadays ground level truth is we r Kirtaniya for the money we r cultivating our mind to they’re choice so that’s why we do not feel guilty to ourselves we feel we r doing preaching but in this way we should not try even srila prabupad said in some lecture to some deciple if you have this type choice we don’t need you in Bengali we have this one talk srila prabhupad used to say “dusti gorur theke sunno Gowal onek valo”.. that means we no need in our society that type of people who is liking or if they have that type of taste so we just have to follow in our Vaishnava culture and traditional instruments to serve Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and guru 2 as your question that you went to learn mridanga from a famous teacher in mayapur so there’s also in srila prabhupad lecture or some Vaishnava says for our maintaining grihasta life we need Lakshmi and if they have only way to get Lakhani from teaching or playing so there’s nothing wrong but they should not have any type of fixed amount to teak people or to teach you any kind of things when you r learning from any people they automatically become your shikara guru so ofcourse you have to pay them as a donation not any fixed amount so in that way they r wrong so in this topic I’ll try make video I’ll speak about that thank you Harekrishna
