- So SEMC just revealed their new title Catalyst Black - this video talks a bit about catalyst black and the genre as well as my thoughts on the game. Catalyst black used to be known as Project Spellfire and has now officially launched as catalyst black. www.g2a.com/r/excoundrel

I am personally excited because I liked how Alterac Vallet played in WoW but I do understand people will compare this VG and be disappointed. I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you compare it to VG. This is more mainstream which I think will help it succeed on a wider scale. Vainglory failed because not enough people wanted to play it - simple as that :(
so like did vainglory die die no updates in the future or they just will hardly focus on it if you mentioned it in this vid i didnt hear cuz my sis in a loud a- zoom meeting lol
Excoundrel Gaming exactly Vainglory died because people didn’t like the game and decided to play Mobile Legends. I think this new game will be more successful since it’s unique and everyone can play it. Plus it looks so fun.
Vainglory died because of extraordinary spending on E sports events and freebies offered like skins, talents etc. Those are luxury items and they should be as in game purchase items. They could have done strategic marketing in regions like India, China with more population. Sad to see the game die it was my favorite game.

The main reason why Vg succeeded in its first years is the graphics, so I think paying attention to the graphics and make it as perfect as Vg will be a huge factor to attract players. That’s wat happened to me when I see Vg for the first time.

I disagree that there be small pay to win aspects, but I would not mind at all if there is a large monetization of cosmetics. If anyone deserves to profit it’s SEMC
yeah I'm with you since this is like a skill based games so i prefer if money that players spend isn't to make character stronger or even a bit, i prefer having more skins, gun animations or stuffs like that,. but let's see what will happens when we try the game ourselves
That’s what they’re doing with VG, and that clearly didn’t work.
M. Arbah Binamin it didn’t work because they implemented a free to play system prior to the new system. since most of the player base was already used to grinding for everything the change didn’t sit right. if semc has more monetization in the new game from the get go then it should be fine + profitable
fuzzyy we have to also say that the generous monetization was one of the things that makes VG so lovable in the first place alongside the tight controls. If they didn’t have that at the start, not a lot of players might even stick to VG in the first place as well. It’s a tough spot to be in, that’s for sure, it’s 50-50.

Arbah Binamin completely agree - since semc is a startup company there wasn’t an easy way out to attract a player base since advertising is expensive and using a pay to win scheme on something like this would deter players. it’s a shame vg had to be in that spot :( there could’ve possibly been a (much fairer) balance of free and paid features in the game, but we can’t go back in time
Hype from the art style alone, but still wait for real gameplay because i have no idea how to win/objective of game
Best pay mechanic would be all Character skins / weapon skins / weapon effects / transportation skins cost $$. Looking at the base model, most people would want a new look almost instantly. 😅.
Throw a nice transformation that looks like Dracula (the mage one) and instead of laser beams it's huge lines of bats. Slap a $5 tag on it and your set. A zombie skin for your character and zombie skin for your gun that shoots brains instead of blasts, make the combo $7.99. So on and so on.

Yeah, exclusive skins that are pay only would be great. Maybe special characters, but there should be zero pay to win mechanics.
Quite frankly, I'd rather just pay for the game.
@@IkaikaArnado Same here, I'd pay to be able to download and play the game rather than a pay-to-win game. But for sure I'd be looking at a lot of reviews both positive and negative before buying the game.
@@capitaldeecolon4819 yeah, closest to pay to win that I can stomach is downloadable maps and expansions with exclusive items/skins/content. As long as it's a merit based system it's fine. There should be no pay to win mechanics though that just undermines the players and the game.

One thing tho, as u say the clans & alliances (guess which is most likely). Semc seems like adventurer, they work on grandeur & unique player experience. But i think that kind of grandeur is not entertained by larger portion of playerbase (in my understanding). Altho its a drop in dropout, if it needs clan communication & commitment, ofc it will bring community close but might limit the no. Just a thought, couldn't help share.
It definitely looks, fun and as much as I hate to say it this can go so much further than Vainglory. If they do it right.

isn't they mentioned about multiple game modes i guess? i mean one match will be different type of objective like who get the most points capture, like death match or anything else but in a large scale and long battle like excoundrel mentioned? who knows... just a mild guess
Since passive is items I hope customization will be accessories or gender or body type or hair and facial hair or whole SE skins

MONOKING I think SEMC has made it very clear they’re going to let VG go after the final phases of VGCE is out.
@@NeroVingian40 Adding on to this, yeah, VG as a game is likely never coming back. The heroes, worlds and other assets might get reused though (akin to VG Allstars).
Hoping to have vainglory like graphics, should have the option to have low graphics for potato phones. Agree?
I believe the display toggle (low med high) is there. So potato can run it while high end phone will have nice graphics
I just hope any ptw mechanics are super cheaper and super minor
So that you still get Value for your money but also it isn't an overwhelming factor that having 1 team with 1 ptw player vs a team with no ptw player not being a stomp

I think the big question is: what about esports? I don't see a possibility of true competitive play here
Not everything needs esports, but I could see big guild vs guild competitive matches
not every genre game needs a e sport competitive scene, from my point of view this game would be fun and appeal many kind of players but this game is also strategic and somehow competetive or skill based mixed between fun and serious. don't get me wrong i love vainglory i played for 5 years already and i don't want to compare this game to vainglory because this is kind of different game and i personally excited with this.
for those who compare this to vainglory and setting up their disappointment it just them the fanboy who doesn't see something objectively.

I like the graphics but it seems like id rather have the vg game play. This looks like a 2d fortnite. Ill probably give this a chance but i do hope they get back to working on VG after this game’s release.

COMPLETELY agree, they need to apply more aggressive on applying monetization than vainglory. Vainglory is not monetized in a way. And as u say a sweet balance is always good. I see Sooo many trash games monetized so hungrily. Personally i m f2p, but I'd totally like to see that.
It looks good but they made a better game and a great game before it and the way they teased it, doesn't go upto the expectations. Its like what people said about the crafting system in VG they made a free skin system first but then changed it but people wouldn't buy skins and kept asking for the same system. In my opinion they would do the same about this game. And TBH there is very small amount of people who follow these type of games. MOBA's and BR's are still top the most followed list so they can forget about PC and console players.

The colour is because the generation is changing, its a different exAmple but they did the same with zelda franchise, now you have breath of the wild with all the same colors catalyst has, those very pink/green bright fortnite ish look, children love that, and they all have phones nowadays

@Maōkami Shooter is a fps or tps. This is obv not a shooter albeit they are calling it that way. It has the same camera angles as of a moba.

No it's too late, at best they'll need to make a new vg or remake it.
Ver 1x42x4 they could relaunch VG and make it great again, it’s not like they have to start from scratch, I have been trying other mobas for mobile lately and they are messy, complicated and unbalanced af, I don’t know how VG players could have abandon it for those other alternatives, in my opinion VG could be the mainstream moba if only they marketed it right, but now instead of doing that they come with this s**t of a game that will flop horribly, I was expecting something really good from them but this thing is beyond disappointing

A question. What are they going to do here? Clearly this is sort of a rpg game where it's clearly pay to win. If they are trying to gain money then it is definitely going to work. On the flip side, it means that the potential for this game to be a competitive eSports game is minimal.

Have you ever watched any other mobile game with good graphics? Vainglory doesn't have the best. Secondly, touch controls give you precision in team fights that's a fact. Lastly, this game will not succeed, that's my prediction..as much as I want them to succeed.
