I had a tough go today. Fished the channel behind peche, the dumping grounds for a bit, in close to the shore on the US side along that area. 1 smallie and 2 sheep head in like 7 hours. Any tips? Would love to get into some largemouth. What areas should I target? Any info would be appreciated.
Went out last week and hit the dumping grounds, North, South, East, West. Shot over near the channel, shot over shallow. Throwing everything from cranks, neds, drop shot, spinners. Graphed for awhile, didn't see shit really. Caught a million pound Sheephead in about five hours. Dropped a jig down on the way back to St Jean at the mouth trying for a lucky walleye sandwichto and not even a nibble. Going for smallies btw. Tough day.
Hey John , when u say big shad moving in are u talking the really big ones like 12" or 4" . Always gets amazing musky fishing when the monster shad move in and last year seems like we missed them in my spot atleast wasn't like the years before
@@SportsmensDirect thanks . That's what I was seeing too . However I dropped my transmission on the boat ramp last weekend and will be probably another week till I'm back out . Don't think I'm missing much with this warm weather anyway
How bad was the biting flies, I was out fishing last week and the biting flies were so bad there was no fish worth getting bit that bad. There had to be at least 300 + flies in the boat.
Getting a fishing kayak next spring and can’t wait to get out there. I’m in Windsor. I caught my first musky from shore fishing for large mouth.
Look forward to your reports.Thank you!
You bet!

Huge Shad won’t move until we get muncher colder. But lots of 3-5” showing up in my perch minnows and seeing lots of fins and noses in the spillway...

Pulled a two man limit of perch, 15 fow, middle of dump. Not the biggest size but good eaters.
Where is the spill way located?
google/google maps
Very close to to where Crocker Rd intersects with Jefferson
Hoping to get one more musky trip in this season.
No bass report?

Think worms would be ok for the perch out on the lake
Worms caught us some big ones in 13 to 15 feet between spillway and metro.
@pirate959 thanks for the info
Smallie action ???? Good bad???
@johnwoodard1726 was thinking about coming over. Any general locations and baits ?? Thanks in advance
Last year I was devastated by the small mouth perch fishing about this time of year not complaining but they do destroy a perch rig
lake needs a rest. let the locals have the lake back.
Many locals catching lots of perch
Hoping to get one more musky trip in this season.
