    When I got my first and so-far only tattoo, I ended up with a large full-color saturated piece on my thigh. The artist gave me saniderm to heal it. Just like you said, it filled up with goo and the seal broke. By a string of what I thought was "bad" luck I ended up removing it and healing without. Watching this made me realize it was probably for the best. The tattoo healed no problem after that. I've got an appointment for my next tattoo in December scheduled, and I can't wait. Thanks for explaining all this, Remy! :)

    derms should be applied for the first 24 hours, then changed and the second sheet left on for 3-5 days. you shouldn't leave one sheet of derm on for the full healing duration. i've healed many full colour pieces without any issue doing exactly this

    • @bishikon
      @bishikon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Directions for use:
      * The first piece of Saniderm should stay on 8-24 hours, depending on how much the area weeps. It is normal for blood and fluids to collect under the bandage.
      * A second bandage can be worn for several days. Apply a third piece if needed. Do not wear any piece for longer than 7 days.

    Remy, great video as always. I feel bad for the last guy. He got messed up pretty good. Have you ever thought of publishing a book of your philosophy and overall view of tattooing? And the tattoo community in general? I know you speak about it the videos, but I think maybe writing a book would be a better medium to get the philosophy you have on tattooing to the masses. Hope this finds you and your loved ones in good health and spirits.

      At some point I will write a book about my “journey” as well as all I’ve learned and my overall philosophy, but I’m not quite there yet. Cheers

    man. that last guy. something tells me he didn't research the shop or the artist. it was probably a walk-in/"yeah i got you bro" situation.

    At least these infections aren’t so yucky like we’ve seen, definitely find good artists that aren’t so heavy handed they’ll hammer it into your skin and will give you a much better tattoo

    Question, when you say if they’ve taken antibiotics do you mean the topical cream or the pills?

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When it gets bad enough antibiotics are needed

    I'm dealing with a tattoo infection and I know exactly what happened. When I got home from getting the tattoo I took off the saniderm and did my usual rinse, pat dry and replaced it with two pieces of tegaderm. In the middle of the night those two pieces had drifted away from each other and it was exposed tattoo against my sheets. So I took them off rinsed again, patted it dry and then decided to let it dry heal. Within 2 days I had the thickest crust on the tattoo I've ever seen. I'm on antibiotics and I've let the artist know. This is only the second time I've had an infection from a tattoo. The first time was just the artist chewing up my arm. I had an entire tattoo of a blister. It was gross but I didn't need antibiotics.

    A month or so ago I left a comment on a diff infection vid. But regardless I was passed your knowledge onto a girl that was 1 week deep still wrapped and open/split scabs but without the rough scab part. and the following week I ran into her she was almost fully healed. Scared but healed.

    Whenever I get my second pass at a blackout arm SHOULD I put saniderm on? I hear it's like 50/50. I just did the dry method it didn't scab up like yea it peeled a bit but no scabs... And that is working very well that's what I did on all my previous tattoos... Butt should I use saniderm on my second pass?

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn’t recommend saniderm for blackout, too much plasma for great results most times, I’m not saying it can’t work, but in my experience it’s not the best for it
