Jimbo , goodmorning sir , Curious on your take w/s.d. /met trade rumor... Cease or king as both have no contracts next yr and stearns does not sign 30yr olds to 5yr deals -is this a waste of farm
I still think a pregnant sonic when you go for the Blue Jays. Wagner and Martinez are more second baseman than third baseman. I’m sure Vlad would like to sign. Wouldn’t have to worry about third base for years. Clement isn’t the future and Barger can play other positions. Santander is a strikeout heavy bat and why not balance him out with a guy with great plate discipline. Also a great playoff that.
Only thing is I will give sterns and the Mets a lot of credit for a good job cuz they usually don’t let anyone know what they are doing before an actual trade happens.
Padres will have to eat a huge portion of the contract just to make the the trade enticing. Padres will have to eat 100 million more to get this done now.
lol if Pete signs for anything less then what HE wanted , this whole ordeal will make him look weak, Pete should take his Talents to Toronto, ..he will hit 50 hr's hitting behind Vladdy or Santander....at the rogers centre...lol he's foolish for not going to Toronto,
I see the Rays moving in a stealing Robert’s and he’s a good fit in the Rays roster. The Rays have a history of being a team that does this to unwanted players.
Trading Tatis actually makes a lot of sense. It’s probably their only chance at getting out of the Bogaerts and Cronenworth contracts. If Soto can get 765 million and Vlad is gonna get around 550 million why cant Tatis be worth 620 million if he comes with those two? Bogaerts still has about 75 million in value left. Cronenworth about 25 million. Tatis about 520 million. If they want to get out of nine years of hell then trading Tatis is their ticket
@ Because after the Soto deal elite players in their mid 20s can get a lot more now. If Tatís was a free agent today he would get around 500 to 550 million.
I trust passan opinion on Pete yesterday is that Pete is Avery underrated he said if you analyze his overall hitting metrics he is worth the money and passan knows is stuff
The Jays are in danger of being stupid like the Angels were, u cant let your high value players walk away as FAs u have to talk to them about contracts if u cant get close u have to trade them, u know if the Angels could go back to 2023 they would have traded Ohtani for a shit ton of prospects or even 1 or 2 it would have been way better then what they got for letting him walk.
?? Pete already looks weak b/c there’s absolutely NO market for him. His best shot to improve his value is to return to the Mets in a lineup that includes Soto, Lindor, Vientos, ect. He would probably be abt the 4th best hitter on the Mets(a lot less pressure)
For the person who suggested Alonso is a HOF player. That he's easily on track to hit 500+ hrs. And 500+ = HOF. THere are 7 players with 500 or more hrs not in the HOF. And Alonso is thirty yrs old and not even half way there. 226 hrs. So he hit 40 plus in three seasons so far in his career. Now he would have to AVERAGE OVER 50 hrs per year over the next 5 years to get close to 500. For a guy who has hit over 50 once in his entire career (2019) 34 last year. Yup that's going to happen lol. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅 Again not even close.

Soto is getting 600 million over 10 years, SOTO is an average outfielder, 260 hitter avg 25 Hr, Ohtani a SP who pitches a 100 MPH a 300 hitter 50 HR, 50 SB , think about it ? How many great players like LINDOR can you get for that price? Soto is making 160 million for 2025, that pays 20 million for one year salary contract for 8 great players, not good for Mets, players are going to figure it out and when the Mets don’t win 2025 it’s over.. Ohtani contract says he only makes 2 million 2025…
You’re making Soto look like an AVERAGE hitter!!! He’s one of the best hitters in BASEBALL!!!! Yeah he doesn’t provide the star capital or diversity of talent like Ohtani does. But his production(at least for the 1st 8 years of the contract) is well worth that money!! Would you be this judgemental of the signing if the Yankees signed him? @@jimmybonez8928 Soto had a career year in 2024 hitting in front of Judge who gave him protection.
