We do know the reason now, officially, and honestly we knew the reason before considering there was logically only one situation it could have been based on what was said. Dr. Disrespect had started talking to a minor (younger than 18) via Twitch whisper messages. They had discussed plans to meet up at Twitchcon. The powers that be at Twitch got wind of this, with logs to support since Twitch whisper messages are purely functional and not meant to be held to any privacy considerations. So Twitch had to act and close the account. The two parties worked out a legal settlement/agreement in which Dr. Disrespect had his contract paid out and both parties agreed not do discuss it further, not that anyone would ever in a million years expect Dr. Disrespect to want to. That's what this hype cycle is all about.

that sound extremely illegal so im pretty sure theres more to it and why nobody at twitch came forward about it till now. and why twitch would rather pay DD rather than just say "hey this guy try to hook up with a minor". i mean if there is any reason to to void someone contract pedo would definitely be it.

@demoth I read somewhere that twitch whispers were supposed to be 18+, so them exposing Doc would've led to further scrutiny on twitch's (lack of) moderation, so they settled. Scumbaggery all around, apparently.

It's insane how big streamers give up their careers for taking interest in minors. I guess they did it before and now they are caught.

It was said in the most neutral way possible, but everyone lost their minds.
No mention of the individual minor's gender
No mention of what "inappropriate" was
And, most importantly for me, no mention of who was the initiator of what said "inappropriate conversation" was.
Because the situation could turn completely on its head if it turned out to be a di** joke to a boy or that a girl tried to push it, but he didn't participate.
I just want the logs out or for the victim to step forward.

At this point, I don't even know if his knowledge of the individual being a minor is actually his knowledge or just what he was told back then.

That is really the big question . I’m taking everything as a grain of salt. I just don’t understand how people can’t think of the person lying to be a 18 or older (whisper is for 18+) or maybe some weird entrapment case . Idk if he knew that’s disgusting , if he didn’t then what?

@@SuspenceF00L_Gaming IF he knew... he should be prosecuted. What's weird is all this stuff was presented in front of a judge and Twitch paid him his contract as settlement. Makes me think that once age was discovered contact was cut off..... OR...... and this is a big one.... what if age was NEVER discussed and the age of the person was discovered AFTER the fact. Which is maybe why Twitch HAD to pay him because Twitch allowed an under age user to access an 18+ feature. We need more information, but people are assuming everything with only scraps of details.
