    Thanks for vlogging after a long travel day! I absolutely love everything about London and hope to see it next summer. You did an amazing job and its easy to see that you're very comfy in London. I can't wait for more!!! Lucky you going to the Rolling Stones concert. They only played one date here in Canada at the end of June, but rocked it to 70,000 fans!

    Jordan, you are just the best vlogger ever. I had a chance to go to London for my senior trip in high school back in 1980. My parents gave me the option of paying to let me go there or taking me to Hollywood. I chose Hollywood. Kind of regretting that decision now that I'm older. lol Safe travels for the rest of trip!

It's ashamed that the orginal building of The Marquee was torn down and redecorated That should of stayed open as a historical site! But, progress! What can you do about it? And didn't you have ANY jet lag?? And where do you get your energy from? Keep up the great work!

    Memories came flooding back. My aunt Bridget lived a couple of doors down from the flat the Stones had. It was the early 1960s 62, 63 I think and we would go up to see her from east London and go to FUnfair in Battersea park.
    She told us about the boy's who lived next door and how they were in a group and were always struggling to get a bit of shopping in. I seem to Remember her saying she would help them out with milk, sugar that sort of thing. The flats were very run down. Bridget lived there throughout the 60s before gettíng a new council home around the corner almost but not quite on the Thames, not far from Chynee Walk were MIck and Keith brought homes once they started making money.

    Loved this. Many comments already that Ian Stewarts involvement with the band continued after Oldham's "firing", albeit his participation was largely unseen - playing piano on many recordings, and tour involvement. It's been written that Stewart was such a blues purist that he refused to play anything that had minor chords!

    Wonderful vlog as always Jordan
    They indeed lived pretty rough in that Edith Grove Flat. Keith's mother would send food parcels, they would have starved otherwise. Their first winter in that flat, about '63, was one of the coldest winters recorded and they damn near froze to death when they ran out of coins for the heater....Keith and Brian certainly honed their craft in that Flat, amongst the decay and mice. Ian was pivotal in their early days, but Brian just as much.

    • @MsMesem
      @MsMesem 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The winter of '63 was indeed savage especially so in the south of England I don't think the heater would have made much difference to the interior climate.

    Hi Jordan, you can't beat London for walking, history and interesting things around every corner. There are blue historic plaques on hundreds of buildings and beautiful parks (the Jahster would loves those). It's funny to think that they started out in a small flat like that, and when you think of the money they have now, they could buy the whole street and a couple of others. Great vlog Jordan.

    ian stewart was never kicked out of the band, he was just told he couldnt perform with them live but would be on record in the studio with them, partly because his looks but mainly because ANDREW OLDHAM their manager said 6 MEMBERS were too many on stage, after they became really successful in the late 60,s he returned to performing live with them and continued to do so until his death in 1985, as for mick and keith meeting at the train station keith saw mick carrying chuck berry and muddy waters records and started to talk to him because he loved the same music

    I went to Exhibitionism when I was in London in 2015. They had the living room, the kitchen of their flat and it was disgusting! It's currently in Boston if anyone is interested. But it was so neat to see all the guitars, the costumes from the various tours (e.g., the Sympathy for the Devil costume from the 2014 "14 on Fire" tour, which I went to in Paris).

    If you are still in London Jordan, you should look up where Judy Garland lived and died when she was with Mickey Deans, it's a muse house in chelsea, Cadogan Lane, Belgravia, London; I think. Also Golders Green cementery, burial places of Mark Bolan (T Rex) Carl Marx and quite a few more.

    Syd Barrett the founder of Pink Floyd lived in Earls Court with artist Duggie Fields. David Gilmour lived nearby. Princess Diana had a flat before she married in that area

    Love the park dedicated to Princess Diana!! It's not hard to imagine the debauchary that took place in the rolling stone flat!! 😂 Dang, Mick looks bout 15 in the black n white pic with his bandmates.
    look forward to more london vlogs!
