      Nowl Wane the only thing close to cartoonish in that ep was the mole and maybe the cg on the spider-hybrid of his bully. Other than that, there wasnt any cartoon or cartooniness involved.
      Im not arguing since your opinion is as valid as anyone elses, im just curious if you could expand on what was cartoonish for you other than two scenes that lasted less than 2 min each out of an hour long episode.

    I'm quite late to discover this series, but jeez its genious. I've loved every episode thusfar (Just seen white bear), and its amazing to talk about with others, as i'm noticing how people take things from an episode i didn't even think of, and the other way around. I hope this series isn't just watched by people like me, who are already in for thinking criticaly about subjects like this, but also by people who just like the stories and just happen to start and think about it.

    Amazing series, Brooker really explored some serious social and political issues about the power of technology and potential abuse. It terrified me because i can easily see some scenarios related to what is depicted in the show actually happening.
    It's a terrible impasse for humanity, do we become a connected controlled global society which is capable of solving global problems that threaten our existence (unavoidably under corporate influence) or do we remain a series of populist insular countries trapped in a siege mentality and ignoring the planet? If we go either route there are potential nightmares - the first route can lead to scenarios in a high tech future like some of the episodes in Black Mirror. How much is too much?

    • @willdarling1

      Does it surprise you that the creators do not advertise that you can pirate their show in one country?

    • @aaron4820
      @aaron4820 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Will Darling It's more of a commentary on the state of entertainment access in China, while DMCA and various ISPs are doing everything they can to minimise pirating in the West, it's extremely easy to access those same content in China, even ones that are supposedly banned, a country that's famous for their censorship of the media. But okay, sure, I'm sure my original comment actually meant to say "Oh, why didn't Charlie Brooker personally endorse people to pirate their show? Bizzare!" Whatever suits you.

    • @willdarling1
      @willdarling1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      aaron4820 No that would have been even more odd. Why not just say "It is easily pirateable in China, lots are watching it" -rather than adding all the attitude "i know for a fact" and "none of them are paying" and ending with a 'lol'.

      Ever been in a fight? With two inexperienced, untrained fighters its not about size or strength mostly luck, you catch a person in the right way in the kidneys, testicles, nose or throat and the fight will tend to fall your way, find a rock or log and lash out with a good blow and the fight will fall your way. I watched a guy floor a bouncer the height difference between them was ridiculous, it was just a very nice powerful punch that hit a sweet spot on the bouncers jaw.

    Could easily see the horrific treatment of copies of people as outlined in White Christmas coming true (not the technical aspects which seem far fetched) because of the way we already treat animals. Unlocking the mysteries of the human brain through science might result in new horrors. It's a pity that empathy isn't a trait in everyone and that almost seems to be a natural law.

    Sorry but season 3 was nothing compared to seasons 1+2.
    1+2 was unpredictable, the whole beauty of Black Mirror was that here was a show which still surprised me, a jaded, old man who's seen everything before.
    Season 3 was just as predictable as anything else on TV. Every twist and turn was broadcast almost from the very beginning of the episode.
    Especially the paedophile episode, Shut Up and Dance, the scene where he gives the little girl her toy in the restaurant really annoyed me. I already knew the twist from a mile off. There was absolutely no need for that scene, it gave us nothing but a spoiler.
    Same with the killer bees in Hated in the Nation. Why show us the bee on a flower? Or the open window when the first woman died? It just gave it all away. Admittedly, I thought at first the bees would be trying to protect people, some sort of built in protectiveness that made them kill the figure of hate, (which I still think would be better than having some guy program them... booooring) but either way you knew right away it was the fucking bees.
    And the fucking roach episode. God, so obvious and predictable.
    I hate this sort of thing. It treats the audience like a fucking idiot, as if we couldn't work it out without these little hints.
    Leave it as a complete surprise. It would have been so much more powerful to find out that guy was a paedo if we didn't already suspect that was the case.
    Compare this to earlier episodes.
    White Bear... I didn't think for a second she was a criminal.
    15 Million Merits... I didn't expect for a second he'd actually end up selling out.
    etc.
    Don't get me wrong, season 3 was still much better than 90% of stuff on TV, but compared to previous Black Mirrors it was a let down. It felt "dumbed down"... which is a phrase I hate, but it feels apt here.
    And San Junipero was fucking inane dross. Terribly boring drivel. Sorry Brooker, I love you but it sucked.
