Cool video. I tried taking my blow gun on the boat instead of my bow and tried shooting flounder and sting ray. I got one ray but here’s the modifications I’m making to pull off deeper “blowfishing” shots: 1, it sounds like 10lb braid is the way to go. I had on 6 lb mono, but the memory of that plastic is obnoxious. 2, I ordered longer darts so they’d stay straight through the water. 3, I’m considering modifying the cones to come off every time when it hits the water because they ruin your darts velocity through water. It would be nice to see biodegradable caps for .625 blowguns. Always bring some extra cones!
I use bike spokes to make darts. Use the cones from the bamboo darts. Drill a hole in the cone. Cut the spoke end off so it has a small hook. Stick the spoke through the back of the cone and use a hot melt glue gun to glue it. I also take the stun dart and drill a hole in the tip and crazy glue a spoke in it for fishing. Make sure to sharpen the tips of the spoke.
If you drill out the center of a stun dart air cone it'll fit onto the back end of a heavy steel slingshot/pistol crossbow dart then just thread the end cap back on.
Do you lose any power with the string running along the cone? Seems like you'd be better off having some kind of eye in the center of the cone to tie to.
I made points with a large worm hook that I straightened on an anvil it has a barb and nice hard point. Although, its a tad bit shorter but works brilliantly.
We can't hunt with blowguns in Kentucky. Way more accurate and lethal for the average shooter than slingshot, which takes a lot more practice. But slingshots are legal. Some bureaucrat sitting at his desk making decisions about weapons he knows NOTHING about.
have you had a problem with the line getting stuck inside? ive tried once with a smaller blowgun, i think it got tangled on the side of the cone and I nearly blew my throat out
To solve your line problem is simple. Right in front of the cone you take a small file and file a notch all the way around the dart. Tie your line into the notch. Problem solved.
@@MHollywood5 Put a magnet on the blowgun, near the mouthpiece, with some electrical tape. It will keep the dart loaded and it won't fall if you turn the blowgun downwards! Trust me, it works
Dude I think your right. Your definitely going to need stronger line than 80lb test... good job dude looks like it works pretty good!

Wow a very cool idea of fishing

Thanks for your videos man. I live in south Florida and I’m definitely gonna try this on iguanas!
I hope it helps you out! It works great on iguanas, I have a couple videos posted using the same setup on them
@@AEOutdoors I seen one on the kayak bro! Sick video man! Also was great to see the clean and cool part! I wanna go after big boys like that!
@@AEOutdoors can I ask you what are the uses for the skins though? ?
?
You can tan the skin and keep it for anything you want. I’m going to use one for the limbs on my bow
That's pretty badass neet man
Why are you killing frogs? Do you eat them?
In a lower comment he said it tasted like chicken so they did eat them
How do you keep the dart from sliding down the tube when you hold it down toward the water?
Anthony Minggia I hold it at an angle until I’m ready to shoot and then I suck in as I lower the blowgun to shoot
@@AEOutdoors ok.thanks
@@anthonyminggia6794 dont suck in unless your blowgun has a guard to stop the dart from going in your throat
@@lasersummit7895 ok..thanks!!!

Nice stuff! Are you going to try and hunt squirrels or birds w/ the blowgun?
Check out Tim Wells he does all this kinda stuff and sells all the equipment already fixed up. He shit a 45 pound paddlefish with his and got it in.
Dave Kuhn hes badass no doubt.
Great Video!
What kind of wire do you use?
Nilon or braid? and what diameter?
Thank you!
Thanks! I was using 60lb braid

I haven’t had any issues so far with that. I always make sure to keep my line as tight as I can so there’s not any slack in the barrel of the blowgun
The best way is for the line to trail the dart through the barrel on a swivel. Do a search on Cottonmouth Frog Gig, and you will see how I do it.
I have 10 lb test line and for whatever reason the dart gets plugged up in the tube .
Braid, mono or flouro?
Like your glizzy
You’re my hero!!!! Lol
How did the frog taste?
Sebastian Overmann like chicken
Where are you fishing?f

Nice
Remember to practice catch and release 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Glue the caps
Black birds in the Walmart parking lot lol
I'd pass go and straight to jail in my state !
Bro isn't it dangerous while tou suck the dart for reload.
There is a guard to keep from sucking the dart in
