    I was like you trying to learn this technique years ago when nothing was really available on it in the States. This is still one of the best videos out there for those just beginning. For those who venture into using synthetic fabrics the only additional info I would say isn't covered here is synthetic fabrics can result in a dull finish on the surface. The silk creates a shiny sheen which is hard to achieve with a lot of synthetic fabrics. Some weaves of synthetics can be manipulated to felt by using a needle felt tool to puncture it all over creating more ability for the fibers to work through the fabric. Thank you for creating such a useful and informative video. Happy felting!

      J Watley get creative add some yarn and other embellishments. As long as you have laid wool fibers down you can add synthetics on top and it will felt. Check about half way through the felting process to see if there are any spots that are not felting and that are lifting up easily. In those areas just add more wool and you should be good to go.

    Do you have to use silk can u use cotton

    • @feltingcreations8624
      @feltingcreations8624  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      J Watley you can absolutely use cotton as long as the weave is open enough. Cotton gauze works best
