Enjoyed MUCH!! LOVE learning some techniques over and over. Not only for self use but to teach others who may not have the money or technology in place to participate.
Down here in New Zealand we have a thing called an Anti static pad - which is pretty much a little material bag with i believe corn startch or corn flour in it...which helps with reducings the amount of embossing powder sticking to the paper in areas that arent inked :o)
She didn't mention this in the video, but you may try and Google an embossing "buddy" which you rub over your paper before you use the embossing ink as the embossing powder can stick to the paper where you don't want it. You can brush any spare away with a brush, but I find it easier just to swipe it the paper with the "buddy". And also, it's better to heat your tool up for about 20 seconds before you melt the powder. Sorry for the long message!!
@Traybuff Embossing powder and velvet flock powder are two different things. The flocking will give more of a texture similar to velvet and it is raised. Embossing powder does give a raised effect, but depending on the powder you use, can be smooth, glossy, bumpy or matte or a combination. Sounds like for what you are doing you may want to use flock powder. Hopefully that helps.
@friskerbizkit Embossing powder will stick to any ink that stays wet long enough for you to get the powder onto the stamped image. It will not need to be sealed as long as you melt the powder.
Hi, So you used a special ink pad to make the clear print on your paper and another special ink pad to make the purple butterfly print so that the embossing powder sticks to the ink print. Are these called embossing ink pads? Thank you,Debbie
Hi! I didn't know that you could heat embossing using regular pigment ink and embossing powder. What is the chemistry between the two products when this is done? I've always known pigment ink to be very chalky and rub off if not sealed. I am assuming that sealing it with the embossing powder will delete that type of issue; however, how does the embossing powder stick to the pigment ink? thanks!
@Deborah Ann. The clear embossing ink pad allows you to do so much more, as you stamp & add any colour embossing powder on it. You can use any type of of coloured ink pads as long as they are a SLOW drying ink. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions :)
OMG!!....how amazing!!...I had never seen that before...we do not fing those materials in my country El Salvador =( but I would like to try it!...Could you please give me an idea about the price of these materials?...I will really appreciate your answering back =)
Is embossing powder the same as the velvet flock powder, becuase I am wondering if embossing gives a smooth riased 3d effect. I am soon makeing disney Rapunzels dress based on thelimited edition Rapunzel doll & the fabric has this deep Purple smooth velvet vine pattern on the Satin skirt, the effect is a raised 3d effect pattern on the surface of the fabric. I have no idea how to do this, so that's why i'm asking about this ambossing, if it gives that riased effect i'm after as I have no idea
Do i need to store my pad in a baggie, i felt that my pad dried out and i feel like my powder dose not stay on or its not on thick enough and i keep curling the edges of my paper...
Pela imagem é interessante mais não entendo sua lingua, porquanto não entendi o video por conta de não entender sua e não conhecer o produto.Mais é interessante e lindo.

@wildboytheyoukai This will work with any ink that stays wet for a bit. I would not use a glue, because some glues will bubble when they get heated.
Can I use hair dyer for the heating tool?

i imagine this effect on leather and silk, thanks for the lesson
We used a variety of our Ranger embossing powders. We added some links to the products used in the description above.
@xoxbabyRxox It should work on any paper. Maybe the ink you are using is drying out before you put the powder on?

The prices will vary depending where you buy them. Try a google search for "Buy anger Melt Art"
can you do this on differant material like copper or clay ...
@junglee786 You cannot use a hair dryer because it does not get hot enough to melt the powder.
Does it work on wood?
It will work on wood if you seal it first.
Can you emboss on glass? or Tile?
