How are the neotec saws for longevity? I see they came out with some "pro" models and they seem great for the money. I'm about to finish forestry school and am thinking of getting something around 60cc just to have as a general do all saw and clearing some blowdown in roads. Realistically probably won't get used more then a couple handfuls of times a year but I never really like to skimp on tools. Then again it's hard to justify a "pro" saw from the big 2 companies for close to a grand if I'm not going to be using it to really be making a living. Any suggestions
This is my only Neotec thus far. It's pretty well built but things are definitely made cheaper than Stihl quality. The best advice I can give is you get what you pay for with saws.
Save your money go with a known brand. I bought one and after cutting one 28 inch tree trunk up i had nothing but trouble with carb and power. Had it tuned several times to no availe. Not to mention the other small stuff i had to fix when i first got it. Get a saw that you dont have to buy to repair
I just bought a 892-92cc NEO TEC w a 36”bar, great power nice to handle started 4 th pull out of the box. I will break it in easy for now but so far , so good If this saw does well I will buy one like you have as well
Very nice running saw. Lots of work done on it most of which I don't have the knowledge to understand.
It takes a while to soak up all the info but there are a ton of videos explaining porting if you want to learn how.
I peeped the carb adjustment skills too.

after running both, I prefer the G888 over the 070. both are powerful, the 070 is just slower.

these saws are definitely for people that don't mind, or even WANT to work on them. if you find it annoying, buy name brand.
