ugh i am the same as you. if i find an artist i like i will watch every interview, live performance and listen to every released and unreleased songs they made
And then I overplay them and get bored so I move on to the new artist

I discovered Little Mix in 2020. During lockdowns I had their music on repeat and watched who-knows-how-many hours of their interviews.
My bitch ass was teary eyed the first time I heard The Cure by them
literally I have known them since 2016 when they put out shout out to my ex but I didn't dive into their whole discography till 2020 and oh boy it is pop perfection 🥺 LM5 is one of the best pop album of all time(I said what I said😌)

I’ve known little mix since 2011 when they won the X factor. Those girls brought me through thick and thin, and now they’re gone it’s Taylor. I discovered her in 2021 and am proud to say that I am both a mixer and a Swiftie ❤

This year i explored whole Taylor's discography for the first time. Because of the language barrier i can listen to the song 10 times and find new details every time. Recently every time i listen to her it'll be something from evermore or folklore, cause i like the vibe. I know I'll return to Speak Now, cause y'all keep calling it underrated

Taylor was my top artist but she didn’t enter my top songs until #14 with cruel summer (legend). I listened to an obsessive amount of Maren Morris this year since I saw her on tour, so she made up 5 of my top 10!

Most of little mixes songs are just like black magic and that’s why they are huge in the uk. they didn’t make it big in the us because they didn’t because labels wouldn’t promote them properly telling them they have to flirt with producers for them to make it in america.

Then I realised it was a random song I latched onto off a playlist and spent a month during a depressive episode blackhole listening to this one random song repeatedly. i was surprised to see new shapes by charli xcx to land at my #11 spot. i knew i was obsessed with it for a week and then only listened to it sometimes after that one week (because i discovered so hot you're hurting my feelings by caroline polachek thanks to her feature on new shapes. this song went to #2 lmao) but i didn't think it would go higher than songs like motion sickness by phoebe bridgers and high school in jakarta by NIKI (songs that i couldn't shut up about). i guess i really did overplay it to hell during that one week huh

As a muna stan I’m so happy you’re into their music! Silk chiffon and number one fan are some of my favorites. Katie (the lead singer) wrote phoebes verse “as phoebe” and I think she did a great job, being high and anxious in cvs is very on brand. Also they definitely have star quality for me, but as swiftologist once said, gay. I am gay.

That seems like the correct thing to do ig, completely going on a deep dive into an artist's discography once you know you like them, but for some reason I don't do that. Once I've established that I like an artist's sound or writing, I don't listen album by album, i listen to their discography sporadically. Different projects different songs, some hits, some way left-field deep cuts, so they weave a different picture in my year than full albums. And somehow that's a satisfying listening experience for me??? Obviously I listen to full albums after I'm familiar with them.
